Played RE6 HD split screen last night and it was sick, looks pretty good graphically noticed screen tear once and some blurry moments but I'm not a person that really judges these things. I was really impressed with the style of couch coop, loving the unique horizontal split screen ala RE5's. I was playing with my wife so I had to tone down difficulty and add infinite ammo (which didn't work?) but this did not detract from the experience it was still intense gorgeous atmosphere.

All in all for the $20 bucks it's definitely worth it, all dlc is on disc, couch coop is well welcomed especially if you have someone to play with. The controls are way more action than any RE I've played, you can probably beat the whole game using nothing but melee attacks and it feels great. Also I meant to mention if you play split screen it can seem little dark and can be slightly confusing when coming from a cut scene straight to the action, otherwise these are minor.

If your undecided I say buy it, there's a good game here at a budget price.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Close to half. This is why CV is weak in my book. Have fun backtracking the entire game.

I've built up a long list of reasons why CV is weak.

It at least had somewhat more legit puzzles and there's a cutscene with a certain someone bitch slapping Claire that's absolutely hilarious.

I'd put it above Zero though.

Not sure how I'm liking RE6 it just feels kind of meh in comparison the my time with RE5 on the PC. Enemies just feel kind of weak/light and combat comes down to knowing how to melee stuff like crazy since the pistol is almost worthless and melee attacks create a stun lock on the enemy :P. Graphically it doesn't look to hot either the game really relies on you keep everything super dark if you bump the lights up a lot of the textures looks pretty horrible with a lot of jaggies. My biggest issues is the guns though I feel like I'm firing peashooters whenever I have the pistol out and things just don't feel right. Kind of disappointed since RE4, RE5, and even the mess that was RE Operation Racoon City had much better weapons/controls then this.

At least multiplayer seems to be working pretty well finding a co-op partner is pretty fast and the other MP modes seem to connect pretty fast as well. I played a little Agent Hunt last night and it took maybe 10-15 seconds to find a game usually and while it failed to find people on a few occasions it usually found a game on my next search. One thing I did notice on Agent Hunt while playing as the zombies is pretty much all attacks have what I would consider a massive delay(2-3+ seconds usually) that can instantly be broken by just about anything so unless you get swarmed there really is no threat in this game :P.

Question about RE4 on PC... I want to use keyboard and mouse, but, are the default controls OK?

RE4 is currently the only RE game that I've played. I played the Wii version and loved it. The HD version was on sale on Steam, so I decided to get it. The Wii version has pretty unique controls. The entire time I was playing it, I was thinking there'd be NO WAY I could play this game with a traditional controller (like on PS2) and have a good time. The Remote and Nunchuck just works so well for that game.

So I was thinking that the keyboard and mouse controls should translate well to what I was use to on the Wii, but there's something awkward about it. Should I try and get use to the default controls? Or is there something better I can be using?

edit: What this dude says here pretty much sums up my initial feelings about the controls:

I think using the A and D keys to turn instead of the mouse is really throwing me off. And there's just something a little wonky feeling about aiming with the mouse. I was expecting aiming to be as smooth as the Wii remote.

Call me crazy, but I love how RE4-RE5 play on a normal controller. Last time I replayed them, it almost gave this feeling like it was a shmup or something, you maneuver your weapons and bam, shoot the cores. Almost like an awesome arcade experience. That folks, is something I cannot explain at all. But I love beefy, chunky controls. It's the slippery overly fluid nastiness of Uncharted-esque kind of controls that I despise.

To be honest, I've never actually played RE4 with a traditional controller. I just know that I wouldn't be able to aim for shit. I have an Xinput controller, so maybe I'll give it a try and see if it's doable.

Using the A and D keys to turn just takes some getting use to. I played the game for about 30 minutes last night and it seems like it was already becoming second nature.

I'm still trying to get use to the mouse aiming though. There's still just something off about it to me. I thought it would feel as smooth as the Wii remote aiming, but there's just something chunky about it. I don't know, maybe I should try adjusting the sensitivity?

Just finished Leon's campaign and it kind of grew on me towards the end. Still think RE5 beats the pants off it, but once you get a few more weapons and invest some skill points into your characters things get a lot more enjoyable. Really felt like the difficulty was set on a sloppy curve though died a ton in Chapter 2 then only died maybe 2-3 times the rest of the game mostly thanks to that shitty water section and the AI not wanting to help me exit the area. Hell I even got an S ranking on the final chapter with no deaths because the final boss was a joke and the zombies that were there didn't seem to give a shit about attacking.

Now on to the other 3 campaigns.

I think there's a learning curve to RE4's controls no matter how you cut it. I remember it being wacky as balls myself when it was new, and I have to readjust everytime I replay it or RE5. But it doesn't take long, and I end up loving the controls all over again. I don't think it's that complicated. Have you played the Dead Space games? They control and feel just about the same, with the addition of being able to slowly walk while aiming. The controls are a big reason why the Dead Space games are some of my favorites last gen... pretty much the real successors to RE4.
