That's why I said that higher scores for the week (i.e. Top 5) should require sceenshots.

Obviously if you're trying your ass off, and can only get 500k, when the average is 2 mil, then I don't think it would be necessary.

Screenshots are par for the course. It shouldn't be considered any less friendly - at least it doesn't to me. Honestly, I actually TRULY enjoy clicking on spoilers and seeing screenshots - especially from cameras; seeing the setup they are on and the monitor colors - I think they're cool.

If it is going to detract from people playing then sure, they are optional, but encouraged by me cuz' I like seeing them and I think they add some benefit to the competition overall.

Prizes have always been in the op, but there is no entry fee and the prizes won't hasten anyones retirement.

@joeawesome - do you want your own team or are you joining up one of the teams of 2 that is looking for a 3rd?

Thought about starting a team, but it's probably best at this time to throw me in one of the other open teams. Still stand by my name, if possible.

I noticed it was fast becoming a recurring theme, perhaps a sort of battlecry to this year's STGT. Heck if you turn it 90 degrees to the left, it could be like a ship of sorts. It was a last minute addition, only because I noticed there was a lot of leftover space in the lower right corner. Playful jab, determined focus, come to your own conclusion.
Ack wrote:Considering that there have been very few documented cases of score fraud within our competitions, and screenshots disenfranchise a portion of the population larger than the number of attempts we have had at score fraud, I think it is morally imperative we should not require screenshots. After all, even if the ability to take screenshots does make it easier to traverse in society, it is not necessarily mandatory and just means more paperwork and that things can be more difficult to access. There are large portions of the population who do not have the time nor the ability to take screenshots, more so than have attempted to commit score fraud.

I also think requiring screenshots discriminates against those who are too poor to be able to afford a dedicated button for it, particularly among minorities.
But forget all that for a moment. The most important issue not addressed here as it usually is in any sort of shmup-focused competition.....

AUTOFIRE?!?!?!?!

But seriously, heck of an organizing job here. Thank goodness this wasn't left to me after all

If screens are optional I am in. I may do some, but didn't like the fact that they might be mandatory.

but
You control the disembodied head of a dog, and fight against hordes of evil space penises
Besides, pretty much every shmup ever has you playing as a giant penis. I mean:
