yeah. Which is why I agree with you on that. You should know that just because a mod started the thread, it doesn't mean that he ran it by all the other mods first to see if we thought it was a good idea.

Also, please tell me you do realize that Apple's post was a joke?

I took the whole thread to be a joke, as seems pretty clear from Ack's tone/pics/etc.

No, I didn't know Apple did make the joke at the time. As an 8 page topic this isn't a project thread, read the first couple of pages and the last one, not every post; life's too short to read hundreds of posts otherwise.

If the thread is just a joke thread, then i'll leave it there.

Moderating of course isn't hard - it is a time-suck at times, but yeah, no one is forced to do it and the majority of stuff is just merging stuff to the right area, deleting spam, and nuking spambots.

That said, Bacteria, this forum has 30 posts for every 1 on your forum. I'm not saying this is a huge / busy forum, but comparing your forum to this forum is not analagous. I'm really not sure why you out of the blue got worked up about this particular issue today. Odd.

Yeah, it was a joke because of a member that was whining about 'mod abuse' for being asked repeatedly to follow the rules or something. I've slept since then and moved on with my life so I don't remember exactly.

As an 8 page topic this isn't a project thread, read the first couple of pages and the last one, not every post; life's too short to read hundreds of posts otherwise.

And that's why more (good and somewhat idle) mods are better, to have more eyeball coverage to catch problems when they do occur.
