I can say fairly I didn't get lucky in this run. I tried some 4 times but never got the Perfect on the same bonus level as last time (that is why I thought it was lucky to get it on the first attempt of the previous run).
I got that score by grinding at it (I think the session lasted well over one hour). On my first ball I got the Ball counter up to 5 (so 3 extra balls), and I think I got 2 more during the rest of the game (I did not get the Last Chance ball).
I did the purple bonus level so many times I lost count, many of which with 4 flippers which makes it a bit easier to finish. I think I got over 20 million out of that.

I'm still a bit unsure on Alien being overall better than Jaki.
I stand by my initial impression on Jaki being glitchy mess... I got a few more clipping glitches (not on the high scoring run) - I had the ball go through the right outlane stopper once and another time I even had the ball pass from the play field to the plunger at the wrong height and without even having the respective opening enabled. I also had another instance of getting the ball trapped with either 3 or 4 balls to go (I HATE when that happens).

It also really has some design issues, with 3 of the bonus levels being downright unfair in a table where the main scoring mechanism is through the bonus levels that is a serious design flaw.
The multiball is pretty cool when the implementation doesn't make it a bit of a pain (i.e. when you keep both balls at the top of the table for a while and can actually know where both of them are).
I also think that getting from the bottom way up to the top is a bit harder than it should be, although I prioritised being able to do it as it is so relevant. In the PC-E version of Devil Crash I thought it was at the right level in this issue, but they have the "luxury" of having a real middle table compared to Jaki's disjointed middle flippers.

Got my copy of Dragon's Fury, got one game in but it froze. Second time it froze in fact. Lots of fun but doesn't seem to be the finest example of coding on the Genesis.

In any case, bask in my super-n00b score:

That's no noob score, that's pretty good. I can only get that on Alien Crush myself. If this were the TR shmup thread, Ivo would be the Hashiriya1 of it this month

I've done some trying... but I don' think Crush will be my entry into Pinballism.

if it's "Dragon's Revenge" it isn't a Crush game

Dragon's Fury:
There was also a Sega Mega Drive port of the game, retitled Dragon's Fury (Devil Crash MD in Japan) which was developed by Technosoft.
At any rate, it was not a good game to get me interested in pinball games. I mean it was fun or whatever. But it didn't exactly suck me in is all.

New scores --

Alien Crush - 9,512,800 - Fast

Image

The bottom playfield was being good with the bonus collections and I even hit that brain in the upper field enough for the big bonus. Also matched at the end for an extra ball.

Devil's Crush -- 15,147,600 - Fast

Image

First ball lasted almost 15 minutes. The post on the lower field is super useful. Got an extra ball and made it to Bonus Stages 1,4,5, and 6.

Too bad the month's almost over, I think I finally learned to get used to that ball speed.
