Well their goes the neighberhood. Watch out for the guy with the mace/pepper spray, he's family so I can warn you not to turn your back on him or he'll steal all your arcade games before you can see him coming.
He's a good egg and the community is better served with him being a sheriff than just that guy with the wacky B/S/T page and odd one-liners.
Congrats to all three of you and I hope you serve as well if not better than those that have come before you. Now if we can just get Game Boy Player Land focusing on Game Boy content again life will be good.

Fair enough, I just wondered as I definitely consider you to have started some of the most interesting posts on the forum..
And Dsheinem, I have no issues with those selected to be mods, I think they're all great choices. I was more wondering if JT should have been a mod in addition to those mentioned rather than instead of them. I hope it didn't come across the wrong way, and I'm sure there was a lot of consideration put into the choices.
Just because someone posts a lot or makes interesting posts does not necessarily qualify them to be a mod in my opinion.
It's up to racketboy and his team to make their mod selections using whatever criteria they think make sense. It is a process that the general public is not privy to nor should they know what it is.
alienjesus wrote:Question: Why isn't JT a mod? He contributes great, insightful posts and thoughtful topics to the forum, is a long time member, and is nearing that fabled 8000 posts
Yeah, JT may be next in the lineup. How about CRT? Is he a mod yet?
I don't really want to be a mod. I used to moderate a forum for the rave scene back in the early part of the last decade, and it was a huge pain to always have people pulling me into their arguments. There isn't anywhere near as much drama here as there was on a rave forum, and I likely would have accepted being a mod if I was asked because I care about our forums, but I still am not terribly fond of doing moderator work. I appreciate what our mods do and they apparently do it quite well because we have a high quality forum.
Thanks for suggesting I should be a mod though, as it is something of an honorary position. Flake, mjmjr25, and retrosportsgamer are all deserving too, and I'm sure they will do a fine job.
@ JT - Whole Heartily agree with alienjesus. It is true, your posts are eloquent and encourage participation. You really should be a Mod as long as it does not take time away from all your great thread starters.
@ Lisa - Thanks for suggesting me. I prefer to just post and write guides, though I do admit are not as well written as JT's thoughtful posts.
The Mod Team made some great choices, congrats again to the newest Moderators!

Good point. In some ways, I don't think I would be a good mod because I never visit the B/S/T forum, where much of the moderation is needed.

I never considered that, at all. Makes sense. I bet moderating in situations involving money can be very frustrating.

So, should I stop trying to convince people that my most count is lower than other mods because the counter had already rolled over?

noise and Hobie already disproved that though.
