Gotcha Force - Rarest Gamecube Game?
Re: Gotcha Force - Rarest Gamecube Game?
Thats a good thing! It means that this game is getting more recognition. I only recently picked this game up, end of last summer, for about $20. I really wish I picked it up sooner.

And because we get to have valuable games without the hassle of paying what they're worth :p

Re: Gotcha Force - Rarest Gamecube Game?
Just went down the road and picked up a complete copy at my local Gamestop. Set me back $12. There's supposedly another one on the other side of town. Are we sure this game is all that rare?
I'd be happy to pick up the second copy and send it wherever for the cost of the game + shipping. If you're interested, just PM me!
...would also be happy to trade it straight up for a copy of Cubivore.

No, and the attention paid this game is complete and utter bollocks. Even if it isn't "widely available" there's certainly not much demand for it. Complete copies on eBay are closing unsold listed at $15-20, though I did find one copy that sold for $19.99. There are half a dozen or so on Amazon for about $35, most of which have been sitting there for a while. $12 is probably a fair deal by a few bucks, but it certainly isn't some great "find of the day".diesel_dan wrote: Are we sure this game is all that rare? :

My thoughts, exactly. I'm in no way disappointed with my purchase, though. Gamecube is a great resource for these sorts of "never heard of it" games--and Gotcha Force is definitely one to add to the list. I'd never heard of it before this thread, that's for sure.
And heck, for $12, it's hard to get too upset if it's never worth more than $12.

When I started this thread, a month ago, there were zero copies anywhere. My point in making this thread was to see if anyone knew anything about the game and why it was so rare at the time. Also, if the game is so not in demand, why is it getting a rereleased? Since the lowest price online is $35+ (at the moment) and lots of people on here have been picking them up for peanuts at Gamestop, it seems like a pretty good deal/way to make good on the turnaround.
Re: Gotcha Force - Rarest Gamecube Game?
Have you looked at closed eBay auctions? $35 is almost twice what it actually sells for, and there are several at $20 unsold. I don't care what knuckleheads on Amazon are charging...the game isn't moving at those prices.captainhavoc wrote: Since the lowest price online is $35+ (at the moment) and lots of people on here have been picking them up for peanuts at Gamestop, it seems like a pretty good deal/way to make good on the turnaround.
I just get annoyed when people perpetuate the idea that a game is rare and in demand when, clearly, it is not (at least not in the US).

People always seem to make the error that BINs and amazon list prices are the going rates. Chances are that if you see the listings, that means they aren't selling. What people are asking doesn't set the value.

Well since you're basing your entire argument around actuaI selling prices, then I'll take a look at the closed auctions. Oh, what's this? The latest copy of Gotcha Force sold for $29 total. I'm not the best at math, but I'm pretty sure $29 is nowhere near almost half of $35. But of course, for that price it must be sealed, or at the very least "like new." Oh wait, it's only in "very good" condition and it has water damage.dsheinem wrote:Have you looked at closed eBay auctions? $35 is almost twice what it actually sells for, and there are several at $20 unsold. To say it's complete and utter bollocks, seems a little hyperbolic, no?
