I usually work Friday and Saturday, but I take them off for cons and work Monday, which I usually have off.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Go every day bro! Re: What CONS are you going to this year?
It was four days the last two times I went, Thursday-Sunday. Thursday is like a "bonus day" for pre-registrants. So if you pre-register for even one day (like, say, Sunday) you get to come in Thursday. There's not much going on that first night but it's nice to get a badge early. That way Friday I can come in as soon as the vendors open for business and raid the place.ZenErik wrote:PortCon is 4 days now? I think I'd rather hang myself than go for more than one day, haha.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I registered PAX East Saturday only........ and all 4 days of PortCon.
You gotta tell me what went down at PortCon that makes you never want to go back haha.

There's just nothing to do there. And for 4 days? Whaaat?BoneSnapDeez wrote:It was four days the last two times I went, Thursday-Sunday. Thursday is like a "bonus day" for pre-registrants. If you want vendors go to Otakon or at least Anime Boston.

Re: What CONS are you going to this year?
Haha I hear ya. There isn't much going on. Honestly the main reason I go every day is because I have the days off anyway (I have summers off) and it's not far from my parents' house and I can crash there. I remember every morning I showed up last year I was like "hell yeah I get to spend all day at an anime/gaming convention!" Then I left after like two hours.
I might hit up Anime Boston next year, I'd like to go once before I get "too old."

I hear you on the "too old" part. Seems like the average age of a con goer gets younger each year, and I get older. I may love me some anime lolis, but when it comes to real life lolis I "just say no".BoneSnapDeez wrote:Haha I hear ya. There isn't much going on. Otakon is ways away from Maine, but it's in the summer. I vote that you go this summer. We'll find a way to get you there.

This is why I like Scifi cons. The average age jumps to late twenties. Granted the asshole rate jumps aswell, but you dont have to deal with "The Game," 4chan tropes, or much underaged drinking.ZenErik wrote:I hear you on the "too old" part. Yeaa. I could do without "the game" or "buttscratcher" or whatever becomes "cool" this year. I believe I should be able to legally club people that yell that crap with a metal baseball bat.fastbilly1 wrote:This is why I like Scifi cons. The average age jumps to late twenties. But outside of ejecting con goers for multiple offenses of yelling those things what can you do? And that would be very difficult to keep track of such htings at a large con which is mainly where the meme screaming happens.

Pull their badge, have hotel security/police officers escort them off site, and tell them to come back in they have to reregister. They can yell the game, but its going to cost them.ZenErik wrote:Yeaa. I could do without "the game" or "buttscratcher" or whatever becomes "cool" this year. The reason you want hotel security to escort them off is because they legally can. It is private property, but your event staff does not legally have the right to make people leave.

Myself and a friend or two, but if there is a "He and his friends are with me" situation, I could bring some cuties. They may not be into gaming or cosplay, but they're always up for a good time, plus they're hot and single.Majors wrote: Luke -> You plan to stay a bit longer? I guess you, Mod, fast, and I will be in closer contact in a few months.
