Aren't there a handful of JRPGs (like Star Ocean) that have some extra content on the PS3 version? Eternal Sonata comes to mind too. I don't quite consider them the "same game" at that point, so I can understand buying both ports, especially if the first one was lackluster.MrPopo wrote:I've done that exactly once. I got Star Ocean for the 360. Played through it. Hated how terribly the discs were arranged (so if you went between planets you switched discs). Then the exclusivity contract ran out and it came out for the PS3 on one disc and with JP voices available. The US voices are terrible for some of the characters, so at some point I'm going to play through the PS3 version.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Now, people who buy Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the same game....... that I don't get.

There's also Tales of Vesperia, which has a significant amount of bonus content on PS3. There are two versions of Nier for each console as well, but I believe the only difference is the character design.
As for me, I own Enchanted Arms on both consoles. After I got a 360 I bought it again because you can recruit Raikoh from Otogi and Metal Wolf Chaos in the 360 version.

Okay, now I'm certain Atlus has been trolling us the entire time. I had suspected it, but this is the nail on the coffin.

What differences are there in Eternal Sonata?BoneSnapDeez wrote:Aren't there a handful of JRPGs (like Star Ocean) that have some extra content on the PS3 version? Eternal Sonata comes to mind too.
And what's Gungnir?

Re: Atlus teases a new game
In regards to Eternal Sonata, "As Namco Bandai had stated, there are features exclusive for the PlayStation 3 version. This includes new playable characters, Crescendo and Serenade, who played a major role in the plot of the game, but were not playable in the Xbox 360 version. It will also include a new clothing system, in which the player can freely change a few characters' costumes. The other extras are the two dungeons, Lament Mirror and Church of EZI. The former of which is compulsory."MrEco wrote:What differences are there in Eternal Sonata?BoneSnapDeez wrote:Aren't there a handful of JRPGs (like Star Ocean) that have some extra content on the PS3 version? And what's Gungnir?
That was copied right from wikipedia cuz I'm lazy.
Gungnir is some RPG I don't know much about. noise and other people smarter than me have discussed it earlier in the thread I think.
