The characters will already be leveled, the story mode will still have to be beaten. As you said, the characters data is stored in the figurine. I believe you can delevel the characters via an ingame menu (but I have not gotten to the point where I need to do that).

Hoping to pick up a few tonight - specifically Whirlwind and Prism Break

It seems that Target got a fresh shipment. I was just checking their website.

If the characters are leveled, does that make the story mode be too easy?

I was banking on that. With overleveled characters, yes it will be easier. Youll have the higher level attacks.

I just went to Target - they have the new "empire of ice" add-on w/slam bam character, but nothing else was in stock.

Just now I ordered Prism Break for $8 off of amazon. Don't see anything else...

I spoke to the manager at a Toysrus and a Target, both said they have them coming in tomorrow and they are putting them out on Sunday morning - and that I was the 10th or so person that day to ask about them. Im hitting Target on the way to Church and a Walmart on the way home.

My kids are playing the new ice world right now - it's 4 pc set for $20 - they are loving it. Not sure how involved it is, but they've got 90 minutes into it so far and are still having a blast. Comes w/2 weapons, a character and the ice-dome which opens up the world.

For the Target store you called, what did the website say about the stock? I noticed in my area that a bunch of stores went from Out of Stock to "In Stock". Target's website seems to be very accurate in terms of displaying inventory unlike Gamestop.

This afternoon it showed nothing, now it shows they are in stock there. Ohwell, its like I told my girlfriend earlier today, if I dont get the figures its not the end of the world. Aslong as I can get Prism Break and Stump Smash soon and Zook eventually. Those are the three that we really want.

So I finally picked up the game for a good price off Craigslist, and I just got around to booting the thing up and... the goddamn portal doesn't sync. I've tried all the troubleshooting, fresh batteries, the whole deal, and it simply refuses to sync. Anyone else have this problem? I've seen mention of this in various places on the internet, with no solution other than to RMA the portal. Unfortunately, Activision's RMA policy requires that you include the receipt with it, which I obviously don't have.

I'm so damn frustrated with this game, it looks so fun, but it's just out of my reach! And now it looks like I'll be having a lovely conversation with Activision customer service tomorrow.

So hold on to your receipts people! It looks like there may be some issues with the hardware, don't want to get stuck having to deal with customer service like I'll have to!

^just buy it new, not off of craig's list. Did you test the portal at the owners house, do you have the right USB - I mean hard to have sympathy if you bought it used and didn't test it?
