Are we all in agreement that police should not be charging people for non-existent crimes? My personal opinion is that the OP should fight this, and I am glad that he said he would. Police and government agencies should be kept in check by the people they serve. Any disagreements on that one?

Nope. I think people should wear seatbelts, but if it's not the law, a police officer has no business giving a ticket for not doing so.

I would hope the court sees it that way. Any other way, and there is injustice. Given that this is a small community, it is even more important that this is fought I think.

That said, it's all up to personal taste, so if you dig it, drive it and love it. Hell, my dream car is a 1932 Ford Roadster and most people think it looks like a heap of junk.
