That's what I'm saying though, societal influences just really aren't that big of a factor in my feelings on the matter. I was raised by a hippie neopagan and a punk rocker-turned-microbiologist, so my orientation towards society at large has always been subversive. I've always had way more patience with you than alot of people on here, because you remind me alot of the people I surround myself with, only a couple steps more candid. I was wondering if you had any hypothesis on how a completely open-minded person who has no problem viewing humans as animals would have such deep problems with coping with it when they actually act like it. Can dignity serve any biological purpose whatsoever? 'Cause it seems like that's your main beef with others, the way they needlessly impose dignity on unworthy causes -- yet that tendency seems so prevalent in human nature. Even when we're not certain why.
I admire your outright refusal of those standards because it takes courage, but there's still something which seems counter-intuitive about completely foregoing ritual. Part of me thinks that most people are simply afraid of pulling down the symbolism and just finding meat and nerves, but another part of me can't help but defend that nature of looking at the world as the only thing that gives existence meaning.
