I've had this copy since the early 90s. The strange thing is about it is that the label says Mega Drive (EU logo), yet everything else about it is Genesis. It runs at normal speed, too.

It's at the point that if she sees a TV, she points at it and says "Seeegaaaa" (like at the start of Sonic1 or 2). She loves watching the attract mode on Sonic 1, saying "Sega" each time the logo appears and doing the Sonic finger wag on the title screen.
It is absolutely adorable.
The first game she had control of was Castle of Illusion on the Genesis. Once she realized that pushing a button on the controller makes the character jump or move, with a sound effect, she was hooked. If she even sees a game controller now, she grabs it and starts pushing buttons while looking at the TV (whether it is on or not). She's basically claimed the GBA as her own with Mario 2 in it. She can actually turn the thing on and get into the game, where she just jumps constantly and marvels at the sound of Mario (or Luigi, Princess or Toad) jumping over, and over, and over, and over. I guess I've trained her well.
That's fantastic as her brain is making great connections and she's super in tune with her surroundings. Well on her way to enlightenment.

Who says video games ruin the mind! Haha. They are substantially more interactive than TV; using much more of the brain. Just keep it in check, eh?

It's weird, I see kids these days with the same amount of nostalgia for those two as the likes of us who grew up with them during the days of the MD and the SNES.
I wrote a blog a while back about me growing up while gaming. I did dedicate part of it to gaming with my son and tossed up several pictures of him gaming along though. Heres the link if anyone is interested:
I can not wait to add to this topic, my daughter is 6 days old now I can't wait to get her gaming with the best of them. And I love all your pics guys. Keep-em coming.
