Y'know, not every character has to fit your playstyle. There's plenty of characters I hate playing as, yet I'm still glad that they are there. Variety is important for a fighting game. People hate Eddy and Voldo for the same reason I like them (and Elena) - they're unpredictable. You accuse Elena of having weird hitboxes - that's the whole point. Using that to your advantage can make her a far more deadly character than a more linear character.
You need to open your eyes and lay off the haterade.
There's a difference between being unpredictable and having completely unnatural movements that don't make any physical sense. If you have to resort to that to get variety, then you're a poor designer, that's all there is to it. Otherwise you can just make this and call it variety:
I love how "you're just a hater" is the new copout for when you don't have anything constructive to say and just want to play the victim.
