What always amazed be about dictators, is that they all live a long life (I'm looking at you Fidel and Kim John-il). FFS cancer you've taken so many good people. Why don't you take any of them before their time?

@Hatta
By stabilizing the rule I mean they make clear that taking over the govermnent is not possible to over throw the king/prince if you want to work for the people you can work through parliment and socities and ministries.
I have a good question for your
you are always with the people
what if the majority of the people vote to have beheading and capital punishment?
does it make it right?
if not, does this mean the people can be wrong?
as for insider information
today our public tv brodcasted a gathering or a rally in support of the government and the king, they say the number reached to 300,000 supporter....our nation is made of 600,000 citizents.
I was personally there, while i couldnt count each person I can make a rough guess Id say 150,000-200,000 people, but I cant say...ths compared to 17,000 anti-government protesters in the roundabout when. they reached their maximum gathering.
I always try to post a proof so here are some pictures

*EDIT* It's kind of surprising to me that so many people would turn out for a rally in support of the current government. Not because of any particular aspect of the current government, but just that I figured people would be less passionate about preserving the status quo.
KingMoh, if I may ask, what prompted you to go to that rally, rather than just stay home?

I'm just glad he and his family are ok, regardless of what any of you all think about the government and media services in his country.Droid party wrote:On a serious note, Thank God we have Kingmohd84 here to give us an opinion from someone who is actually living through this. Re: So the Islamic world is kind of falling apart...
some updates on the situation
At first I was taking this as a joke, and it was a nothing
the government pushed all the wrong buttons and took all the wrong decisions
the situation is now like this
The Sunni sect is upset with the government that is not taking action toward the shii'a chaos, the government is treating the protesters much nicer than the sunni sect would like.
To Show support to the government the Sunni sect held a gathering last night(I mentioned above),
in response the gathering touched all Shii'a personally and now they are marching towards the pearl roundabout in an amount that I can't guess, Maybe 100,000 I wouldn't know.
The government is no longer involved as I see it,
the Shii'a wants to rule this country and over through the government
and the Sunnis are upset by this, as the government is not responding to end the protest
its Sunnis vs. Shii'a mostly, this is no dictator vs people thing
I don't know where we are heading, but the situation is not violent ....yet

@Limewater
I wasn't going to go to avoid the crowd, I hate crowded areas
But I went as my friends insisted on it, I thought between 200,000-300,000 ppl, I couldn't make a difference if I didnt go.
Why people are standing with the government is this:
The last countries in the Arab world to keep a Monarchy is us, gulf region countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudia Arabia, Oman, and Qatar. Jordan and Morocco are the other two outside of this region.
Every country that revolted against the monarchy in the arab world went so poor and had dictators leading them including Saddam, Qadaffi, Zein al Abedin , and Mubarak if you wish to say.
They say during the Monarchy of Egypt, 1 Egyptian pound equaled like 6 sterling pound(I can be wrong)...today 1 sterling pound equals 70 Egyptians pounds if not more!
They say in Iraq during the Monarchy, every citizen was given a piece of land from the government to build a house on....please switch the channel to see whats happening now in Iraq.
Its the same story over and over, fall of Monarchy, rise of a dictator, poverty.
Even Iran, just go google Iran at the days of the Shah(King). It used to be one of the most beautiful places for tourists.
Speaking of Iran,
the other part is fall of the Monarcy, means rise of Shii'a to power, which means Bahrain will just be a little Iran. Can you believe a member of the parliment (Shii'a) introduced himself to one of the officials of Iran during a visit to Bahrain(maybe Ahmedi Najjad himself) as "Your servant..." ....WTF!?
thats a member in our parliment!
just to give you an idea and more why are so many people are sticking to the current King.

Out of curiosity if anyone knows, how many countries have successfully transitioned into a democratic government? At least in this sort of manner?

Democracy is not a"good" system of running a country, it's just not as bad as all the other options. It's the least bad of all, so as to speak.
It's also the most stable form of goverment since it's the only system that has feedback on itself. If people want to wear funny hats in a Dictatorship they have no choice but to revolt, in a Democracy you can change that without changing the system.
Every single developed country.AppleQueso wrote:Out of curiosity if anyone knows, how many countries have successfully transitioned into a democratic government?
