Looks good, but give him a Saturn controller.

Maybe there should be a Ruckusboy, Racketboy's evil arch-nemesis!ProfessorK wrote:Kinda really like that guy.Jrecee wrote:

Re: Feedback on Future Racketboy Mascot
Sorry to resurrect this old post. But I have to say I like this "RacketBob" mascot design a lot better than the one in the first post.ProfessorK wrote:Kinda really like that guy.Jrecee wrote:

"RacketBob" captures the ethos of Racketboy exactly. He looks like a perfectly decent chap, as well as a bit of a boffin who'll recommend you games or provide technical advice on request. He also looks to be a bit of an older gamer, at least 20+, which I assume to be the main demographic of this site. As for graphical style, RacketBob translates perfectly as 8-Bit...and isn't retrogaming what we're all about?
The first mascot prototype was fine from a technical standpoint, but doesn't quite capture the ethos of the site. His child-like features suggest immaturity, and I'm not a fan of that ridiculous sneer/smirk he's got plastered across that face of his. Also, all the pockets he's wearing (Rob Liefield School of Art, anyone?) evokes some sort of extreme "next-gen" gaming more than it does retrogaming. Hell, I'd even take Poochie over that wanker.
So to reiterate:
RacketBob > Poochie > First Mascot Prototype

Agreed.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: Feedback on Future Racketboy Mascot
i think jrecee has a good design, but i like the original one on the first page better. plus, wasn't that one going to be pixelated?
random thought: i think it would be cool if the mascot went along with the podcast's design in terms of look and feel.

if you took a shit, please put it back

CRTGAMER wrote:I put an earlier tease about the original Racketboy Avatar representing the gamer. The eyes glossed over mesmerized deep in a game. Headphones isolating one involved playing a game. What is great is the original Avatar doesn't show a particular game being played by the Avatar, up to the viewer to imagine.
Maybe the other suggestions of keeping just the iconic font as the Main logo?
Combine the originals!
.
Jrecee pick has a nice "2600" graphic feel to it. The character looks a little nerdy, but approaching the right concept.ProfessorK wrote:Kinda really like that guy.Jrecee wrote:

Right now I still like just keeping the Logo and the original Avatar as a side pic.
