I'm assuming if Frisco got a basketball franchise through relocation or expansion you would root for them? I'm also curious which football team you root for since I have an interest in the Raiders being that I grew up partially in LA when they were briefly playing there..
I'm not totally against it, but it just seems odd to me... I personally could never root for Ohio State being a Michigan fan.. And I also hate the Indians, Twins and White Sox being a die hard Tigers fan, same with the Red Wings and me hating the Avalanche and Penguins..YoshiEgg25 wrote:I root for both the Cubs and White Sox. Why not? They only play each other six times a year. I don't see why that should invoke hatred.

Regardless, when a fan roots for a hometown team, they root against their rivals... The Raiders and 49ers are bay area rivals, even though they are in separate conferences.. Most fans I know have certain allegiances and rivals.. I rarely see fans that are impartial to every team but I have no problems with it either.. If you are a fan of sports, that's fine but I think it's actually worthwhile to be devoted and a die hard for your local team... A previous poster said that you live with the good and the bad, and when your team finally gets to the mountain top, it feels that much better.. That's the way I see it atleast.. Like take Michigan, they are doing awful thanks to their moron coach Dick Rod, but I still root for them regardless... I'm not going to turn around and root for Michigan State or Oregon because they are undefeated, but I do appreciate the fact that there are great CFB teams out there competing for the BCS championship..sevin0seven wrote:
actually i'm an "NBA fan" that root for the hometown team Warriors. just like in the finals last year many people think i would root for the Lakers (because their in cali), but i rooted for the Celtics instead? why? because i thought the Celtics was the better team. i'm not one of those people that hates other team just because, i analyzed all teams. that's just the way i am. the same thing goes for both MLB and NFL. A's and Giants are both my team and Raiders and 49ers are the same because i live in the bay area. if i were to move to TX, then the Rangers will be my team, but it doesn't mean i can't root for other cities.. I'm just a fan of the game.
