Re: Game you LOVE that everyone else HATES
I'll throw in some support for Wild 9. It was wacky and fun
Also, I was a big fan of the Dynasty Warriors series. That series is loved in the east but hated here in the west, where you can usually find BLATANTLY biased reviews against it
Sonic 3d - It wasn't too bad as I recall
The Tenchu series - Some people love to bash them. Honestly, I have had more fun with them than ANY Metal Gear Solid despite that series being supposedly better stealth games
Zelda 2-My fave Zelda game on the NES, but not everyone's cup of tea and I can see why
State of Emergency - Not a masterpiece or anything, but a fairly fun beat'em up
Final Fantasy 8 and Final Fantasy XII - I enjoyed both of them, though I can see how FF XII might not appeal to some
Unjammer Lammy - That OTHER game with PaRappa that no one talks about
The Red Star - Aside from this site, NO ONE seems to know about the game. The few reviews the game received when it was released are not indicative of how nearly perfect an action game it is in every way. In fact, if they didn't crank the difficulty up so high in the last few stages and if the playable big dude had been better implemented(he is far too slow for later levels), this is one of the few games I have played in my life that I would give a 10 out of 10 too
Luigi's Mansion - Loved it, even if it was not the type of Mario game people were waiting for
Brutal Legend - Game didn't get all the love I had hoped for when it came out. I loved it. A lot of people bashed it because they simply sucked at stage battles, which were pretty easy and fun once you knew what you were doing. I think some people also missed some of its best moments by ignoring the side missions(like the mission with the bat family a.k.a. the Osbournes)
Battle Arena Toshinden 2 - I had a lot of fun with it. Not a serious fighter and easy to overlook in retrospect, but fun for its time
Darkstalkers 3 on the Playstation - Often cited as inferior to Vampire Savior on the Saturn, but the original character mode was fun and original and the game had a LOT of options, especially once you unlocked them all. It was a good port that just lacked some animation and blood
Double Dragon 3 on the NES - It has been bashed by some for its difficulty. It was my fave of the original trilogy
Viva Pinata - If people PLAYED this rather than just writing it off for either being too cutesy, not an established franchise or not being an easily identifiable genre
MDK 2 - A great game that seems to have faded into obscurity. It certainly never comes up when people talk about Bioware
Shinobi on the PS 2 - A bit rough around the edges and hard as hell, but the tate system was brilliant
Mischief Makers - I have actually seen a lot of negative stuff written about the game. It didn't get rave reviews when it came but I adored this game

No, it's actually quite fun. BUT, when it came out everyone was expecting a true 3D sonic game and this played nothing like either of those 2 (3D or Sonic

Opinions about FF games will differ from person to person. FF12 just gets all the hate cause it did things differently.
I don't think there's anyone who hates Luigi's Mansion. It was a wonderful game.

One of the handful of NES games I owned as a kid. I played this A LOT growing up and have fond memories. No one I know likes this game.

Game will be coming to PSN soon. A lot of people shat on it when that news got out. Sure, it ain't as good as the Saturn version, but it was damn good considering how bad the PSX is for 2D Fighters.

Yeah, I think it was one of the last 2D fighters on the system. So I guess Capcom had it down by then. I wouldn't have a Saturn until years later, so I ended up playing quite a few of Capcom's fighters on the Playstation. They did a great job with the Street Fighter Alpha games and Marvel vs Street Fighter wasn't too bad. They did the best they could with that one and the crossover mode, while limited to you fighting teams with the same characters you were using still captured the fun of tag team on tag team action inspite of the Playstation's limited RAM
What I liked about Darkstalkers 3's original character mode is that you could take low tier characters and beef them up. It was like a mini-rpg and I loved it. I made Lilith and B. B. Hood into god tier fighters

Star Trek Online...love it. Its a bit of a steaming pile and launched in an unfinished state, but I loved it then and love it even more now. I imagine I feel the same way parents of ugly babies feel.

Also, Kid Niki is one of my personal favorites. I don't know anybody that likes it.

Same here. Loved the first LOZ, and loved the second one. Never understood why everyone seemed to dislike it because it was different. It was still a fantastic game and I was happy to play something that was both different and good.
