That album is so creepy. I love it. Kool Keith comes up with a lot of great crazy concepts, but Dr. Octagon is by far my favorite.

I like that album a lot too. Also have the instrumental version. I've thought about picking up other Kool Keith stuff, but seems like it's really mixed reviews.

His Dr. Octagon alter ego was the only real successful album.. Mainly, the one I mentioned.. Basically it's an alternative rap album that combines ambient and rap... Much of his other stuff was decent to mediocre.. He was already a well established rapper from the 80s with Ultramagnetic MCs prior the making the album though.. BUt yeah, Dr. Octagonecologyst totally surprised me... I'm not saying it's a total masterpiece, but is definitely worth a listen..

The Ultramagnetic MCs are worth picking up. Kool Keith's black elvis persona is also pretty good. Matthew is super angry, a little too much so. Super Sexy Style is immensely dirty. I don't know if I would recommend those last two, but the others I mentioned are good. I haven't listened to much else from hime though.

Yeah I've listened to Critical Beatdown several times. There are lots of very cool bits, but then there are some rhyme parts that are, umm, pretty whack to this middle class white boy. In Give the Drummer Some Kieth's bits flow despite the chunkiness. Delta's verse just falls apart from the "can of Raid spray" bit.
