What sucks is that this place had all kinds of DC-J and PS1-J stuff, a lot of it still sealed, and when I went back a month or 2 later it was mostly gone.noiseredux wrote:That is amazing.foxhound1022 wrote:He was looking for me, and I posted a WTB for one, but I actually found one at a store kinda close to me for $60 - sealed.
I asked if they still had anything, and the guy said that the manager or owner decided to put the stuff on Ebay.
That's also where I got my CIB Ascii Fight Pad.

The DC is still one of my favorite systems to play today, and I did buy one originally.
Seeing as how I primarily play stuff that is arcadey, it was the logical choice. I think I primarily bought it back then based on the fact that it was going to be the only console that was going to have a home port of SF lll.
Now seeing the horrible ports of games like MvC 2 on other systems, I believe I made the correct choice.

just got to the part in Grandia II where Melfice's backstory is revealed...
I've got to say... I think Grandia II is one of my favorite RPG's of all time.

I think I like Grandia ll just as much or even more than Skies of Arcadia.
Have you ever played Grandia lll, or Grandia Xtreme?

I've not played any of the games you mentioned. I know Grandia II and Skies are often in competition, so I should plan to play that one in the near future as well.foxhound1022 wrote:I think I like Grandia ll just as much or even more than Skies of Arcadia.

Is it possible that Japan has a lot of retro-consoles and retro-games in much better condition for much cheaper prices found in US/Europe ?
Hearing of brand new retro-consoles or games is not uncommon from what I read/see over there.

Absolutely. Most stuff that people list on ebay in the US as "good" condition would be "junk" quality in Japan. Even though I bought most of the games I came back with in Akihabara when I was there a few years ago, they were cheaper than ebay.RCBH928 wrote:Is it possible that Japan has a lot of retro-consoles and retro-games in much better condition for much cheaper prices found in US/Europe ?

I'd like to hear your thoughts on skys whenever that comes. To me it was a sega ff7 and i loved it.noiseredux wrote:I've not played any of the games you mentioned. Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Glad I'm not the only one. I've always loved Grandia II. I think it's the combat system that really engages me too, more so than perhaps Skies of Arcadia. The latter's combat is very simplistic and devoid of any real strategy. That said, both are amazing games and have their pluses and minuses.foxhound1022 wrote:I think I like Grandia ll just as much or even more than Skies of Arcadia.
