You know, the Homosexuality thread didn't deserve to be locked. The only people who were asking for a lock were those who were on the losing end of the debate and wanted a legitimate reason to bail out.

The main points of both sides were made before the thread even started. Really, I don't know how it became even a slight debate. It was stating of opinions, and that isn't something you can just change.

This is ultimately why it was locked, this sentiment. When the conversation revolved around the most important beliefs people had and/or their personal faith, to start referring to either side as 'losing' means that it has stopped being objective and has become personal.

This is a video game forum and while that thread was handled very, very well, it still produced a ton of drama. If you really want it back, PM one of us mods and make your case. I think we are better off being proud of how maturely it was handled and leaving it be.

Never, ever venture into the movie thread. I think I've posted at least twenty minutes of Rises spots, teasers, and trailers.

*sigh* Can we just move on from this? There is still so much I'd love to say on the matter but I can't seem to put it into words, which is why I never really had a chance to post any kind of meaningful response in that thread. I don't feel this is the place for it, so I'm not even going to try. But quit reminding me.

Weather here has been kinda random. Sunny one minute, raining the next, with a little bit of "hot as hell" on the side.

humid as hell where I'm at. We go through the mid summer southwest monsoon season. Sometimes full blown, sometimes just the tail end of some storms.

It Rained yesterday afternoon, some random showers/thundershowers.

At sundown there were random lightning in the clouds.

Some towns north of us had flash flooding.

Still,hot and very humid.

Humidity sucks. There was one day a couple weeks ago that I went to Sears with my mom, I swear it was like the hottest day ever and as we walked inside we expected to feel a blast of cold air from the AC...nope, the fucking AC was out that day. So not only was it hot as fuck, but it was so humid that I swear I thought I was going to pass out from not being able to breathe. Luckily we made it out of there alive, but it was pretty horrible.

People can be "losing" a debate about their personal beliefs if they aren't explaining it well or addressing critiques in a way that make sense for the audience they are trying to speak to. This is what i took lisalover1's sentiment to be.

Certainly beliefs do change, and "video game forum" or not, I know plenty of people who have learned to think about non-game related things from new perspectives (and have their beliefs changed about something) over the years, myself included.
