I thought about trying to get those games but the only problem is I don't need another console in my already crowded roomBoneSnapDeez wrote:Any thoughts on the Blue Dragon series? I just picked up the one on Xbox 360. It appears to be an "old-school" JRPG (harder and harder to find on consoles these days) and features artwork by Akira Toriyama. I am stoked.

Don't want to make a thread on this but I just picked up a Sega cdx. If anyone has one can they give me any advice on taking care of this bad boy. I also heard you need a special ac plug for it? And should I buy a CD lens cleaner for it or will it damage the lens.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I played Jr. Pac Man on one of those 60-in-1 arcade cabs today. Talk about the red headed stepchild of the series. I know it was another attempt by Bally/Midway to cash in on the series (that is, not part of Namco canon much like Ms. Pac Man was), but I really like the larger mazes that allow for more strategy and decisions. Got around 85K and made it to the beer level (seriously? Beer for a kid?).
I know maybe Pac-Man doesn't get talked about a lot here, but I had to take a minute and respect the history of the series because it really fired up a lot of future developments not just for arcade games, but maybe it shaped other areas of video games too.
The Atari 2600 port is also pretty decent as I recall.

NO, DO NOT DO IT. Imagine the powered on laser eye trying to track while the brush of the CD Lens Cleaner hitting it rapidly, not a good idea. If the laser needs cleaning best to unplug and break out the clean cotton swab. Even this is a risk of damaging that laser eye around, some cleaners (including alcohol) might even fog up the lens permanently.mas wrote:Don't want to make a thread on this but I just picked up a Sega cdx. I played the Arcade Jr Pacman thru Mame, really like the scrolling maze and the sound "bites" of eating the dots. Agree, the Atari version is great with exclusive levels, considering the limits of the 2600 are done quite well.ExedExes wrote:I played Jr. Pac Man on one of those 60-in-1 arcade cabs today. Yes, despite the orientation of the mazes being vertical on the 2600, all the original elements are there, as well as multi-colored, flicker free (and far more intelligent) ghosts.CRTGAMER wrote: I played the Arcade Jr Pacman thru Mame, really like the scrolling maze and the sound "bites" of eating the dots. There was to be a 5200 port, but it didn't escape cancellation like the 2600 version did. That one looked even better.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I was surprised to learn Wii continues to sell (from VGchartz)
I wonder who is still buying a brand new console, that was dry for the last 2 years of its life time, and its next generation console is 2 years into its lifetime. Especially when there is no shortage of used ones (it sold 100m!) . You can easily find a Wii with a 5-games bundled for $50 on Ebay .

Just bought a black Wii to complete my set of all the colors.
Anyone else trying to get white, red, black and blue? Tell me I am not the only weirdo here

I never liked the red Wii, but I've always liked the blue one for some reason. But when I bought my second Wii, I was interested in get a specific revision. Not too early, and not too late.
