Found DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution for PS2, apparently sealed (although I'm not sure it is a factory seal or just re-taped by the store workers) at Goodwill for $5. It's the black label version that comes in a big box with a dance pad. Also MST3K: The Movie, on VHS for $1.

went looking for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus (PS2) at a GS that had it in stock today -- BUT it was disc-only, so fuck that. Instead nabbed complete copies of:

Sega Sports Tennis
Magix Music Maker Deluxe
Metal Slug 4/5
Midway Arcade Treasures 3

I also got a box/manual for XIII for free because they couldn't locate the disc. So hopefully I'll find the disc at another store soon enough.

Also, over the weekend grabbed Wheel Of Fortune for $2 and was pleased to see that GS still charges like $12 or $15 for it used!

It was a guy working in a thrift store. Yeah, fuck those dudes! Bunch of assholes. It's entirely possible that they did know what they were, and that's why they were $15.00. Taking advantage of the sap working the counter isn't unorthodox, it's just being a dick. Finding things cheap because the person selling doesn't know what it's worth, or negotiating a lower price are one thing. Outright deception and lies are quite another.

Than the store owners should hire better staff. My point still stands...

I found a "NOT FOR RESALE" case and cartridge of Sonic the Hedgehog for Sega Genesis at a local goodwill. No instructions, but it was .52 cents, so I decided to splurge.

They were priced at $15 each, but I persuaded the clerk to lower them to $5 by convincing him that they were 'old floppy disks' that 'require special hardware' and that they would never sell for $15 each.
i could see if the games were marked at 150 dollars a pop. but, it is 15 dollars...for a brand new game retro game. also, he told the guy they wouldn't sell. LIES!!! i guarantee if he wouldn't have bought those somebody else would have 5 minutes later.

if you are gonna do stuff like that, at least keep it to yourself.
if you took a shit, please put it back

Clearly thrift stores should only hire people with perfect memory that know the value of every product the size of a king sized bed and smaller from the last 75 years as that's the range of stuff they're likely to be carrying. I guess if you're having a garage sale with your parents/spouse/roomate and have some of your stuff for sale, you'd just sigh and go 'oh well' if you went inside to take a dump and someone convinced the person watching the stuff that something was only really worth 1/3 of the asking price huh?

Goodwill and Swap Meet

1. AC polarized power Cord - $0.99
2. Disc Doctor - $1.99
3. 2600 Paddles - $2.00
4. Metal Gear Saga Vol 2 Preorder DVD - $1.99
5. Riven - $0.99 For both Mac and PC

The AC extension cord is only for light applications such as my coffee cup warmer. A polarized plug, it has nice caps covering the spare AC inputs. 2600 paddles now gives me four player for Paddle games. I really need to get extra driving controllers for my Spinner Vectrex Cart. I already have Riven on the PS1, now can enjoy a higher resolution version on the old iMac G3 CRT. Any decent game I can find for the retro iMac, I grab. :D

Meta Gear Saga Volume 2 was the nice find out of the stack. Various video clips and trailers. This disc could only be had when Metal gear Solid 4 was preordered. Now on the hunt for Volume 1.

Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 Impressions

Disc Doctor augments my hand plastic polish, will only be used for deep scratches. The geared disc tray was buried at the bottom of a cardboard box, popped back in place, still works great. To get rid of the Disc doctor swirl marks, I follow up with plastic polish for the mirror sheen.
