What was the last movie you've seen?

Bullit is an awesome movie, with a great jazzy feel to it.
Yeah, it's actually sitting in my Netflix queue right now.

Then again, so is The Wild Bunch...

Heh, nice.

Oh, and Bullit has just about the greatest chase scene ever.

Crows Zero, JP live action based on manga (Crows). Over stylized, perfect hair high school kids getting in gang wars. Good fun, plus added j-rock and j-r&b<?> to boot. Nothing to do with Brandon Lee "Crow".

King of Comedy - An odd Stephen Chow film, more drama than action. Its about a guy trying to make it as an actor and can only get extra work. Many believe it is about Chow's early career.

It was good up until the part where the dvd stopped working and I had to finish it with no subtitles on a stream.

I'm in the middle of watching FLCL. I don't know what the hell is happening, but it certainly is fun to watch. :)

EYEBROWS! (Twitch)

Just pay close attention to the dialog and what's happening becomes pretty clear.

It does? I'm pretty sure that the series makes an equivalent amount of no sense by the end as it had in the beginning.

i.e.: what's medical mechanica, why are all the robots they make super violent and seemingly not medical in any since past the x rays, who is the galactic police federation, what does mamimi mean by overflow, Fooly Cooly is never specifically defined...

Very, very fun show to watch though. One of my favorites.

Medical Mechanical is not really considered a character, but it plays a major roll in the anime.

Medical Mechanical is a corporation that operates in large factories on various planets, the factories looking like giant clothing irons. Who works there is a mystery, as all the factories are heavily guarded by the planet's inhabitants (mall cops in the case of the one in Mabase). The factories have no entrances or exits, only holes along the top where steam pours out a different times of the day.

What happens in these factories is anyone's guess. Apparently they make robots, as Kanchi is a Medical Mechanical robot and so are the many other robots he fights with in the anime. Haruko's attempts to get Atmosk results in her pulling lots of Medical Mechanical robots out of Naota's head, as she turned his head into a dimensional portal she can pull things out of.

The 'Medical' part of the title was partially explained when Kanchi displayed his ability to take X-rays, but why all the robots are huge and violent is not clear nor explained. What is explained is that Medical Mechanical eventually use the 'iron' factories to iron out the surfaces of the planets they are put on, as Amarao puts it, "Ironing out the wrinkles in you brain so you can't think".

Side notes: Amarao mentions in Episode 4 that there is a connection between the government and Medical Mechanical, though later on he states that Medical Mechanical is just as bad as Haruko and want to destroy all thought across the galaxy. It is never explained how or why they captured Atmosk, though it may be assumed that he did not agree with their plans to iron out all thought and he tried to stop them.
Who is the galactic police federation?

Shouldn't that question answer itself? Galaxy Police = Space cop, or whatever else you would want to call it.

What does Mamimi mean by overflow?
You see birds and bees.....and at the end everyone overflows and goes home happy.

Fooly Cooly is never specifically defined...

Fooly Cooly means to play or mess around with a friend etc... in either a friendly or sexual manner.

EDIT: Here's a more specific and detailed definition of Fooly Cooly that the general and simplistic one I posted.
Q: What does FLCL mean?

A: First off, FLCL stands for “Fooly Cooly” - but in Japanese it’s called “Furi Kuri” because there is no L or C sounds. “Furi Kuri” has been translated in many different ways, the most common interpreted meaning is “fondling a woman’s breasts”. Throughout the series the term “Fooly Cooly” is used as an expression for having sex. The mysterious title of the series could also be interpreted as a metaphor for the confusing and unknown territory of sex from adolescence point of view. “Fooly Cooly” could also be referring to how Naota attempts to act cool and mature, only making things more awkward.

Oh. I guess my real criticism is the lack of detailed explanations. The show is seriously esoteric. Nonetheless, I can honestly say that the majority of your insight I would not acquire even if I watched the show 100,000 times. Maybe I should just start googling things after I see them.
