Starters have been difficult to get. Ultra balls needed for nearly all of them. I met more people from Valor yesterday and we all said the same thing about that. All the "extra" Gen 2 eggs were a bust for me too during this event, just the same old stuff. Still in 10 gyms however!

Hmm I've usually just used the master ball not the ultra. If I see one in red and it's a 400+ then I tend to pull them out though just to be safe.

Starters have always been a pain in the ass to catch if they were anywhere over 100CP. If they're under 100CP they have a higher tendency to be Green (or maybe Yellow). Your best bet, I think, is to follow what Tanooki said: Use the higher-end balls+Berry and try your best to get a curveball. I have the best luck that way.

Anyway, I've had good luck with the starters for this event. I've gone from around 30ish Charmander Candies up to over 80, and I'm up to 104 Squirtle Candies, from a previous 50ish. So not too shabby. The event also gave me two 'Wonder' Charmander and a Squirtle, neither of which I had before. The one Charmander is only 353CP, but it has perfect HP and Defense. I already have a Charmeleon, but I think my new Charmander is the one that I'll level up to Charizard.

I'm sorry everyone seems to be having bad luck with the baby Pokemon :( I myself have ended up with four:

Pichu
Togepi
Elekid
Smoochum

The first two were in 5k eggs. The last two were in 10k eggs. Smoochum is my newest one. It just hatched today and was nice enough to give me enough candies (31) to evolve it into Jynx (25). It also has perfect Attack and Defense, so yay for Smoochum.

With the inclusion of Smoochum, I now have the ability to evolve enough 'mon to bring my total of Caught Pokemon up to 138 (out of 146 Seen). I'm also 2 and 1/2 candies short of a Muk. So, so far, the Pokedex is coming along rather nicely :)

Nice luck Michi! I myself have hatched over 10 eggs and not received a single baby pokemon. Argh! No matter. I will just keep walking

I have 3 now, Pichu, Cleffa, and Igglybuff.

Starter/Ultra Ball event I did well on. More Charmanders and Squirtle for sure.

This thread needs pics.
I caught three Dittos, but one of them had a low CP, so I ground him into candy.

I hatched a Magby.

I have caught bunches of starter Pokemon since Christmas. Most of 'em I just grind into candy. I don't even bother adding them into my roster unless their CP is at least four hundred.
Image
I have caught so many Santa Pikachu that I evolved one into a Raichu with a Santa hat.

Hit 26 yesterday finally, ugh 200k for 27.

I also in the last 48hours got igglypuff and a pichu, both of which were almost entirely excellent so I evolved the pair.

My Pokedex is still pretty weak. Just 116 caught and 132 seen. Nothing new lately at all.
