Yes more of the same. My opinions and feelings on things are somehow incorrect and false. Thanks for judging what I should and shouldn't think.
You do the same of what you accuse me of. I never said that was your only problem etc... you jumped to that conclusion, as I merely used that as a quick example. I don't have a problem with your beliefs. You had a problem with mine, going after, very passive aggressively, anyone who says this may not bother them as much as you. You can discuss it, and you can care, never said you can't. But you have been browbeating anyone who disagrees or isn't as passionate.
My statement, if you go back and read, says that this won't really affect me yet they may be making a mistake. MS can make the product they want. If it is a bad business model it will fail. We shall see.

Hey, why don't all the people that aren't listening just talk at each other some more. It's obviously really productive!

And there is actual conversation going on in here, beyond those who simply seem shocked and upset at an emotional response to this.

Anybody have that gif of Michael Jackson eating popcorn in Thriller?
And for the record, I have no desire to purchase an Xbox One. That would be money better spent acquiring Earthbound, since they may cost the same at the time of the Xbox One's release.

What made Microsoft think I needed Kinect? I'm never buying it for my current XBOX 360, why forcibly include it with the future one?
My macbook pro can skype 'from the comfort of my living room'. I buy game consoles to play fun games, not to skype.
The graphics on the XBOX One games look like they're dealing with the 'law of diminishing returns'. This graphical leap is not as dramatic as the last one.
There is no earthly reason a non MMO video game should keep me from playing unless I connect to the Internet every 24 hours. That is absolute horse shit. I will connect when I need something, like a patch or to buy a digitally distributed game or to play online. There is no reason that I, a grown ass man who works for his paycheck, should have to sign in each night to get permission to continue using a video game console I paid for.
I shouldn't have to have someone on my friend's list for 30 days to share games with them. I should take the disc to his house and play it. This is horse shit as well.
"The cloud will keep the XBOX One from becoming obsolete is some vague way that we're not really specifying. We made a bunch of servers so creators can do stuff by being online all the time."
I want to see this console fail. I wanna see it bad. I'm practically salivating to read stories in the news of people buying this thing and finding that it doesn't work properly, like Sim City, then Microsoft trying to do some similar act of reconciliation like when EA gave away free games to everyone who bought it. I want to see the awkward, forced smiles of PR representatives trying to cast it all in a positive light. Hell, I want to see an exhibition where Microsoft's trying to demo a game and their XBOX One can't sync with the cloud. Then I wanna see the ads they'll air on TV trying to smooth everything over, like the hokey Wii-U ads Nintendo's got now saying, "See, the Wii U is DIFFERENT from the regular Wii. It's BETTER. Please buy one?" I want to read in the news about how Microsoft hemorrhages money from this abortion of a gaming console.
For those of you who want to buy one, that's cool. Honestly I'm cool with any electronics that other strangers on the Internet decide to buy. I mean, I can't really understand what would possess some Racketboy members to have an Atari Jaguar shrine with a complete boxed library of every Jag game ever. But if it makes you personally happy and you have money for it then go ahead. Compared to the electronic toys most people geek out over I think we're all pretty weird in that regard.
For me though the XBOX One is at best inept, at worst patronizing and constituting a clear step backwards from features so simple that I've been enjoying them since the NES days. I'm not so desperate to find my next most amazing and memorable gaming experience that I'll fool myself into getting excited for this thing. Sheesh, I've hardly scraped the surface on the XBOX 360 library and I don't even have a PS3 yet. For me the XBOX One can't even compete with those!

I don't even know what this is supposed to say. My attempted translation:Future proofed with power from the cloud: Microsoft has created a global network of more than 300,000 Xbox Live and Windows Azure servers, to help creators realize their visions of what is possible with a connected system.

Re: All the doomsday scenarios about xbone DRM confirmed
I actually think Kinect, the technology, is pretty damn awesome. The Omni uses an internal array of IR cameras that act like a primative Kinect to provide some really awesome input from your legs, and can use a normal Kinect to improve the performance and fidelity. I also think the way Microsoft chooses to use the Kinect is crude and unintelligent - that technology just isn't accurate enough to monitor an entire room and use it as intelligent input. When kinect is focused on an an object from a fixed angle, and can expect it to appear in a certain orientation, it can actually gather loads of very accurate data. The kinect attached to the Omni stand has a clear, always visible view of your legs and, regardless of individual, knows exactly what to expect and how to read them. Great use of the technology.
Leap Motion is another terrific use of the technology, this time miniaturized and placed in a fixed location facing the ceiling that is meant to be placed directly under your hands. Since the entire IR matrix is focused on such a narrow spot, it can track hands with incredible fidelity, making it easily the most accurate handtracking hardware available.
So I don't hate Kinect as a concept. But you've touched upon another reason I very much dislike this always-online business - you cannot disconnect the camera, and it's always listening, even when the console is in standby mode. Microsoft has made pretty vague statements about the extent by which you can disable Kinect in software, but they've been clear that the hardware cannot be disconnected, or the xbox will not function.
That TERRIFIES me. Not because I think they'll watch me walk around naked or whatever, but because of the disgusting amounts of extremely valuable marketing data they will gather on me. I'm not stupid, and I already know the intense ways my privacy is already compromised, but that certainly doesn't mean I'll welcome more, especially to this degree.
And, for those crying conspiracy theory, Microsoft released an announcement just weeks ago about how the FBI is forcing them to hand over the data they mine to spy on citizens.
Privacy concerns are enormous, and honestly the more pressing concern.

Fuck Microsoft. They can eat my Micro-soft cock. Really? Always online. Thanks. I'm sorry I live in the middle of nowhere and the best Internet access I have is ISDN. Which I pay 70$ a month to have. No satillite or dsl is an option. Just not offered. I can't believe that anyone could support this. I game quite frequently, but there is no reason for all of these security measures being implemented other than greed.
Things that are being implemented by Microsoft for the Xbox one are just so dumb. Things like this are the reason I have not PC gamed in so long. I can't in good consciousness support these kind of practices from any company. Not that I could actually play it if I wanted to ,being in the middle of nowhere with 128K kilobyte per second Internet.
I could talk about the kinect for a long time. I can say that I don't want to invite big brother or any other preying eyes into my house. They should have buried this add on long ago.

I actually wasn't even expecting the ridiculous bandwidth requirement of 1.5Mbps minimum.
Right now I've seen people downplay the "at least every 24 hour" check in by saying, "remember when Microsoft required broadband for Live usage" and claiming this is the next necessary step ... but the difference in that is between getting online to play a multiplayer match and being able to play video games at all.
I'm also not sure about all these doom and gloom statements in comparison to PS4. All the information we have so far is that Xbox One and PS4 can support similar sorts of restrictions ... but the difference being on Xbox One they're mandatory and on PS4 they're up to the publisher's digression.
It's an important distinction because if the last 5 or so years of PC DRM has shown us anything ... games that utilize ridiculous methods do not do well in the marketplace. And I think in an environment like PS4, you might see that similar sort of consumer behavior just because you'll have a choice. Xbox One is saying, every single game you get is encoded to the device and account. PS4 is saying ... it can be, but it's up to the publisher and Sony themselves claim they won't be utilizing it. That's an enormous difference and people claiming otherwise don't know what they're talking about.
I'm also am not remotely surprised that Microsoft actually developed a licensing system for used games. Become a Microsoft Second Hand Game Partner today!
Same shit, different smell.
