#RGT: I feel like the phrase "hidden gem" is tossed around way too liberally.

I agree. Many of our comments on the "Defining Games" article for the Wii argue that picks such as A Boy and His Blob, Sin & Punishment, etc. are "hidden gems" rather than defining games. I don't view those games as "hidden" at all. An awesome game like Pirates PlundARRR! is "hidden; Sin & Punishment most certainly is not...noiseredux wrote:#RGT: I feel like the phrase "hidden gem" is tossed around way too liberally.

S&P was featured during Nintendo's E3 press conference one year, so yeah, there's no way it's a hidden gem.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I agree. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I played Borderlands 2 and Bayonetta on my ps3 and I kind see a slight blur or double images shown at once (like I can actually perceive the interlacing happening) . It kind of makes my head dizzy.
When I was playing Borderlands I thought maybe because its an FPS and I was sitting too close to a 46 inch TV. Now that it happened with Bayonetta I am confused.
I played L.A. Noir , The Last of Us, Bioshock 3, and some PSX games and never noticed this.
What is causing this? Is this because of the 30fps/60fps issue?
I turned on the Motion Plus option (the option that makes films look like soap operas). Supposedly it makes fast action look smooth. I will see how it goes.

Is the first game like this? Always looking for a good racer that leans arcadey.dsheinem wrote:Forza Horizon 2 is pretty and a ton of fun. It's like Burnout Paradise + Forza and just drips with stuff to do and beautiful places to visit.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Well it does seem that lately the term has just been used alot more especially for games that may have gotten announced heavily(or at least had some spotlight) but for some odd reason were forgotten and especially since most of them are fun...(though I wish S&P would stop staring me down it's really tempting to play after watching some gameplay vids....)noiseredux wrote:#RGT: I feel like the phrase "hidden gem" is tossed around way too liberally.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
My article on corruption and distrust in game journalism has been picked up by some people on Twitter and a blog and I'm all gidly inside. I didn't expect much of it.
Still, Netrunner articles will remain kings on my blog. Everytime I mention that game, my hits skyrocket

Take a business advice from Nerf Now and stop writing other articles and focus on netrunner since they are easier to write and get you more hits.Erik_Twice wrote: Still, Netrunner articles will remain kings on my blog. Everytime I mention that game, my hits skyrocket

If you can mention Netrunner fanservice you'll be even better off.ZeroAX wrote:Take a business advice from Nerf Now and stop writing other articles and focus on netrunner since they are easier to write and get you more hits.Erik_Twice wrote: Still, Netrunner articles will remain kings on my blog.
