Random Thoughts Thread
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I've stopped using XP. I was a holdout until a few months ago, but I've accepted that it's simply a buggy mess and always will be.
Also: if I spend an hour and a half modding a game, I pretty much guarantee that I won't want to actually play it for several weeks to come.

I'm still using it, I have never had any problems with bugs or anything.sabrage wrote:I've stopped using XP. I was a holdout until a few months ago, but I've accepted that it's simply a buggy mess and always will be.

I just placed an order for the cell phone I've been wanting: the HTC Evo V. Hope it's a wise purchase.

Bandwidth cap? That's the context I'm familiar with.flojocabron wrote:BoringSupreez wrote:Aargh, I'm in fair access!

Yep. My ISP is Hughesnet, and if I use more than the 425 MB per day I'm allotted, I go into "fair access." Basically they lower my internet speeds to dial-up levels. Thankfully, RB is rather dial-up friendly.sabrage wrote:Bandwidth cap? That's the context I'm familiar with.flojocabron wrote:BoringSupreez wrote:Aargh, I'm in fair access!

Interesting thing about my internet: my ISP-supplied router has a browser page, which contains a meter showing how much bandwidth I've used in the past 24 hours. It's called the "Fair Access Policy meter," or, as they abbreviate it, the "FAP" meter. I can never see that without picturing something else entirely.

a daily cap?
My ISP has a monthly cap, but they don't throttle your speeds or anything if you go over, they just start charging you like crazy.
