Although, I had more fun watching Attack the Block than I did Super 8, Cloverfield, or Monsters. So yeah, that movie rocks!

What do I win?sabrage wrote: Congratulations, you found a movie I hate even more than Dumb and Dumber.
...what do you have against The Truman Show?
THE HANGOVER isn't great by any means, but I don't hate it. HOT TUB TIME MACHINE THOUGH....
As far as Truman goes, I don't want to watch a movie about people watching a movie starring someone with not enough brains to understand he's in a movie (okay, "show") about people watching a movie (or "show"). The only thing that really happens in the movie is the reveal, which we already know is going to happen.
In short I find it very tedious, boring, unfunny (the "funniest" part was a guy brushing his teeth if memory serves) unoriginal, predictable, and a waste of talent on a gimmick movie.
But if you want to know what I really think...Just kidding. But yeah, I don't care for it one bit.

Damn Luke I couldn't disagree more with your opinion of The Truman Show.
I mean opinions are opinions and all that, but I will say that it really wasn't meant to be a comedy. That was all the marketing department trying to pass it off as a another 'wacky' Carrey movie.

That sits perfectly fine with me. It was marketed as a dramedy and that's what I took it for, but I still don't see one thing entertaining about Truman. A guy does boring stuff for an hour and a half to find out he's on a show. That's something that can be done (and has been done) in a twenty-two minute episode of The Twilight Zone, not a feature length film.AppleQueso wrote:Damn Luke I couldn't disagree more with your opinion of The Truman Show.

I'm drawing a blank, but I know there are a few other movies and tv shows with the same concept that executed the premise better while also being entertaining.

Truman Show is awesome. It has some funny moments, but it's not supposed to be a comedy. If you try and watch it as one you'll be disappointed.AppleQueso wrote:Damn Luke I couldn't disagree more with your opinion of The Truman Show.

I never said it was a comedy, I said it was unfunny. Even tragedies have moments that make you smile.BoringSupreez wrote: Truman Show is awesome. It has some funny moments, but it's not supposed to be a comedy. If you try and watch it as one you'll be disappointed.

Trollhunter

Cool. It's like Cloverfield for D&D fans and metaheads
This is a Norwegian monster movie done documentary style, and it's pretty awesome. You gotta love a movie that has Kvelertak playing during the end credits with this awesome song
