Wow Bad Dudes, now that brings back some nostalgia. I remember beating this game with my cousin circa 1990 on NES. It had some decent ads too:
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Re: Games Beaten 2017
Bad Dudes was my favorite arcade game as a kid, and the NES port was a day-one purchase from me. I loved it then, and I love it now.

I have a mag with that second ad on the back cover. It was a good ad for sure.
Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of Bad Dudes, at least in comparison to Double Dragon.
It also suffers from the same problem as that game: most of the ports were just... err... bad.

January:
February:
13) Quackshot Starring Donald Duck (GEN) (7.5) (2/7) (~2 hours)
14) Fire Emblem Heroes (Android) (8.0) (2/9) (~10 hours)
15) Super C (NES) (9.5) (2/20) (~0.5 hours)
16) Contra (NES) (10.0) (2/20) (~0.5 hours)
17) Mickey's Dangerous Chase (GB) (6.5) (2/24) (~1 hour)
18) My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (3DS) (8.5) (2/25) (~19 hours)
19) Mega Man 2 (NES) (10.0) (2/28) (~0.8 hrs)
Decided on more NES action. I'm going to shoot for some sort of challenge run at some point with Mega Man 2. I think a no-death might be too simple, as this run only saw me die twice, and only because I didn't bother to use E-Tanks at two points. Perhaps a Buster-only run?
Anyway, if you haven't somehow played Mega Man 2, it's probably the best of the NES games. I know the eternal argument is between it and the third game, but I just think MM2 takes the prize overall. (I still love MM3, though.)

You've made the right choice. As for buster only, obviously you can't do that for the turret boss and I can't remember if alien Wily is vulnerable to buster or only to bubble.

Re: Games Beaten 2017
Yeah, I'd have to make exceptions for those two cases. It's definitely Bubble Lead-only against Wily. You'd also have to make an exception for the Item-Xs as well.
Re: Games Beaten 2017
Right, but you could limit it to sections that are impossible to cross without them. So you can force yourself to do the blocks in Heat Man's stage, for example, instead of Item-2'ing over the pit.

PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Games Beaten 2017
Some people just love the slide. But I agree, MM2 is the pinnacle of the classic series.
