Nope.

I'm fine with it having an R rating due to some of the implications of molestation, and other just plain icky stuff that feels like a bad trip.

Did you find any symbolism of the snakes in NBK, or even find the snakes to be a character in the movie? Almost every pivotal moment involved a snake, and the parable about snakes pretty much sums up how Mic&Mal treat everyone.

I wish the transfer wasn't so dark; it made a lot of the action scenes more confusing than they needed to be. Otherwise, great movie.

Really?!

I thought they pulled off some neat tricks with the depth of field in plenty of shots. All of the space scenes looked awfully vast and ominous as well.

Maybe you were expecting more gimmicks? There was at least one that stands out to me, which I won't spoil, but I personally believe there's more to this RealD thing than just that. It may be more subtle in flicks like the Avengers, or Prometheus, but I feel it really helped those movies spring to life.
To be fair, I think the theater I went to might have been having issues with their 3D. So I could be wrong, yes. But to me the 3D bar is Avatar. That movie's 3D actually added to the feeling of the movie. It was minimal stuff like tree branches, and bugs flying, etc. But it made it feel like you were on that planet, in the forest. The only time I noticed anything 3D in Prometheus was during the silica storm. The storm/wind looked pretty good. But the rest, to me was just bleh.
Ah, well that'd explain some things lol.

No, but seriously, what you're saying about Avatar is exactly how I feel about Prometheus. The film really took me on an adventure, and the world it presented seemed very real.

When I watched Avatar, I fell asleep in the theater due to film's dullness. I've never done that before or since.

Funny how that works.

3D gives me a headache, and I'd rather keep my $2 or whatever they're charging for it.

Watched Steam Boy.

It was okay. It seemed somewhat held back, and it seemed like most of the movie was made to have an excuse to show off animations they did of the equipment and machines, rather than the actual story.

I watched Prometheus without 3D. I always avoid 3D because I wear regular glasses and it's just too annoying to wear 2 pairs of glasses at the same time.

The movie was spectacular without 3D, I don't even see how 3D would have made a big difference.

I thought the allocation of 3D in Prometheus was the best to date. It didn't shove it down your throat like Avatar, and used it only to enhance certain scenes. I'm not a huge supporter of 3D, but it adds a lot to Prometheus.

Didn't mention I saw Rock of Ages, please forget that I just did.

I also really liked the 3D in Prometheus and I am usually not a fan. I've only liked the 3D in 3 movies so far, Avatar, Harry Potter 7.2 and Prometheus.

I also saw Rock of Ages and didn't think it was a bad at all. I didn't listen to too much of that music growing up, despite growing up in that era, so I don't know if that was your contention with it or not. I liked Tom Cruise's performance here. And Giamatti was entertaining as per usual.

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE was also terrific in 3D. Probably that and Prometheus were the only ones I thought that 3D wasn't just a gimmick.

Giamatti and Cruise had great performances (although Cruise singing sounded like Cruise singing) the story unfortunately can't carry a note (sorry). I enjoyed the Giamatti vs. Baldwin angle (I can't believe how forgettable Zeta was) but the "make cute" so early in the film was pretty bad. Well, the entire love story is bad, although I did laugh at the "boy band" stuff.

I'd also say that Giamatti and Cruise make decisions like people in their situation would make, where the rest of the cast seem like pretty people being told what to do without question.

Rock of Ages delivers for women who grew up listening to glam rock and/or milfs, and I got a ton of laughs from it that were "bad/awesome" but it ends up being a but shallow with some really bad acting.

My only HUGE complaint: again PG-13 used to = boobs. Why have a strip club that features strippers that don't strip? In writing, if someone pulls out a gun, someone better shoot it. If you're showing me a strip club, I would like to see some stripping.

Little complaints would be that the casting was either a singer who couldn't act, or actors who can't sing (without tons of production work). That and not playing a few companies licensing fees to use their company name.

Not bad, not my cup of tea.

Ok, I agree with everything you said. :) The funny bit with boobs I thought was, until now I've never seen a movie with Malin Akerman that didn't contain her boobs, so I was surpised on that front.
