For now, I am playing the original NES games.

Though, in the future, I really want to play the remakes. For example, I have heard the GameBoy version of Dragon Warrior is really good. They increased the experience gained from Monsters and made it more enjoyable to play. I have also heard the Super Famicom versions of the first Dragon Quest games are really good as well.

I figured I'd start with the base and then move onto the improved versions later on.

I didn't realize Death Road to Canada had come out on Switch! The reviews were great and there's even a launch-week sale, so I picked it up yesterday because I realized I had more money than I thought left in my account :P . It's a great port so far! They've definitely made the game harder since the last time I played a bunch of it last year though Xp

I've also been playing a fair amount of Hearts of Iron 4 mods. The War of the Worlds one based on the Orson Welles has the game going as normal, but a very powerful alien faction (with their own focus tree and units and everything) comes down in New Jersey on Oct. 31st 1938 is pretty neat. The REALLY cool one is the very in-depth Kaiserreich mod, that has a TON of effort towards creating not only a more balanced world to play in as well as more dynamic and interesting focus trees for damn near every nation, but also creating a fairly believable world that could've existed had Germany won WW1. The mod even has a HUGE wiki dedicated just to the alt history stuff that's been really easy for me to get caught up in reading

Agh, Dragon Quest IV is the glaring missing one of my classic Dragon Quest games! I'm looking at getting the DS remake once I reach that point in the series!
Speaking of which-

Dragon Quest I•II: Dragon Quest - I'm right at the end now! I've just been putting it off again. Why do I do that so much with games, especially RPGs? My progress has stopped towards the end of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories too! This is a bad habit of mine! Make it stop! ...I mean start! Anyway, I've just gotta find the best sword, then I'll be going to slay the Dragonlord!

The Frozen World - It's an old RPG Maker 2000 game I played as a teenager, made by Lysander86- one of my favourite developers who used that software! I'm sure it's out there to download somewhere. If you're interested, give it a search!
Anyway, this game was great! I played it start to finish in a single 5+ hour session! It's an RPG built around a custom battle system rather than RPG Maker's default battle system (which is coincidentally almost exactly like that of Dragon Quest) so it's pretty interesting and unique- you equip 'plates' instead of equipment, which correspond to different RPG menu options and spells, such as Fight, Items, fire magic, healing magic etc. That command is more effective the higher the slot you equip it to, but each tier of slot costs more stamina to activate, which builds up each turn of battle. It's simple, but different.

It starts with a classic fantasy plot- the hero Lutine is dueling with the Dark Wizard atop his tower, but... she loses. She wakes up by the sea with complete amnesia, and finds that most of the world around her is stuck frozen in time- except for the monsters and the occasional person unaffected by the frozen time. She sets off to find out what's going on and put time into motion again.
The writing in this game- and all of Lysander86's games- is fantastic. It's worth playing for the plot alone. The battle system and general aesthetics are a little rough, but I find it all really charming, and it has a nice homemade feel. I found the ending super satisfying, too!

I’ve been having a grand ol’ time with Alan Wake on the PC. It’s definitely interesting and i keep pressing forward.

It’s the adult version of Luigi’s Mansion. Flashlight onto ghosts. Except you’re not capturing them, you’re shooting at them.

The weapon variation isn’t a lot but the weapons are genius. The flash bang grenade act like a traditional frag grenade. The flare gun is basically an RPG.

Ive got plenty of game left to play (the two DLC stories and American Nightmare) but so far I’m liking it.

KillerJuan77 wrote:Well, lets post something about the games we are playing right now (Comments about the difficulty, chapters, story, etc.).

Let me start:

So far I'm liking Resonance Of Fate a lot but man it's hard, you know a game is difficult when you retry the same battle over 7 times  . The combat system is pretty awesome too and even at chapter 2 you can customize your character entirely (You can customize your weapons, clothing, accessories, hair color, etc.). The steampunk environments are pretty cool too.

I'm just started playing WoW as I just got the game from my friend last week as a gift. I know it's a very old game but I'm really addicted to it right now. Lot's to learn, lot's of fun! Highly recommend this game to people who like MMORPGs :) Like seriously, it's awesome xD

I think I got to around level 70 in WoW before I was like...I could be playing FFXI right now. So I went back to playing that instead. Which is what I've been doing lately too. Finished building a Gjallarhorn for one of my alts last weekend, not too much special since then.

WoW is just a huge game though. I played games that were derivative of it first (GW2, FFXIV, SWTOR, etc) so it was sort of familiar, sort of not.

Been playing through Bioshock 1 and 2, but took a break to play some MegaMan.

I suck at MegaMan. Like, terribly. I'm lucky to make it to the boss at all, let alone with lives or health left. Half of the enemies I just have to tank the hits I take to make it past, and the other half are a crapshoot to beat.

Yeah, I suck pretty hard at Mega Man too. Which is annoying because I find the game to be very fun. I just wish I was better at them.
