^Salt rubbing time I suppose.

My 10K popped as did my 5K as I set them up at the same time.

Aerodactyl CP 1579, 106HP, Bite/Hyperbeam - Proud, Atk, excellent. Not perfect but not bad by a long shot. Still have 6 more candies to toss at it too.

Machop CP 668, 92HP, Low Kick/Low Sweep - Amazing, HP, Wow!

Some insight I find when fighting that local Mystic troll at level 36 who has a habit of tearing down our Valor gyms and also has some sort of army of Mr. Mime probably sourced from outside of Europe somehow - Mr. Mime is a Psychic/Fairy type, which makes for a challenging type difference battle.

So you think ok, a Bug type, works well vs Exeggutor and his Psychic type (as well as the Grass type), but then you see it only does regular damage. How come? It turns out Bug type attacks aren't very effective against the Fairy type, so the super-effectiveness of the Psychic weakness balances out. All right, let's go with Poison, that's effective against Fairy! (I did just this, with a Gengar and a Nidoking against it.) But what did I forget? Psychic is super-effective against Poison! UGH! This sums up my experiences against fighting this thing. So I tried my second Scyther that has Steel Wing. Success! Steel is effective against Fairy and even though Bug Buzz is only 1x damage vs. Psychic/Fairy, I beat it easily.

All my new "Gen 2" 5km eggs hatched. 2x Slowpoke, Nidoran M & Nidoran F, Ponyta, Magnemite, Ekans, Drowzee. Not one Gen 2. Greeeat.

Aerodactyl? Need that!!!!!!!!!

No one here uses Mr. Mime. It's typing might be interesting and advantageous whilst good ghost and steel types are rare (gen 2 will fix that for steel types at least), but it still has an atrocious defence stat and low cp. You can probably just win with any decent attack pokemon that can hit neutrally and isn't weak to his attacks.

I dont' think I've seen that Mime yet but within a weeks time I did come across a Jynx inside of a gym which surprised me so that added one to the count.

Unless someone uses it on a gym or you visit Europe you won't spot Mr.Mime - he's only available in Europe right now.

In the US it's Tauros, who I've not seen being used on a gym or anything either. I have seen the Australian exclusive Kangaskhan on a gym once though.

Never seen the Asian exclusive Farfetch'd being used, but that's likely because Farfetch'd sucks

I really hope they make them available through other means later - especially as their choices are pretty bad right now - for example, Mr.Mime has a baby form in later generations of Pokémon, whereas the other 3 don't have any other evolutions in their line.

I know it's a locked character for a region. Nintendo playing 20 year old classic pokemon shenanigans by version. But as you noted, hacks. I've seen the Kangaskhan too once.

It doesn't have to be hacks, you just have to have a friend in another country. Have them log in as you and catch one.

Exactly. The CP of the one I recently fought was just around 1000. Scyther with Steel Wing will work for now. Bug Buzz took off nearly 40% of its HP even with the Bug-type attack bonus nullified by the Fairy type. I was also trying the Ghost vs Fairy angle with Gengar, but then I forgot he's dualtype with Poison. Interesting to see in this country, but it makes me think of how it was obtained. Same with the Kanghaskhan I saw in a gym but didn't fight in August. Still no Farfetch'd seen here. Tauros I've encountered in a few gyms, the Iron Head attack looks really cool but they're also hampered by low CP and no decent STAB moves.

I didn't think about that. Perhaps I won't be so quick to judge. That could have just as easily has happened. He just cruises around as much as me, so much so that I've given up taking 2 high traffic gyms as when he goes by they always fall. I'm now in (hopefully) 8 strong gyms. I hit Valor Road this past weekend and I'm now in 4 out of the 5 gyms, 3 of them level 10 (last spot/first out since September, 2nd from the top, and 4th from the top), and the only one with the lowest level (7) I'm the leader at so I'm hoping for 80 a day for the rest of the year, it's possible.

Well, I'm down to two gyms and due to my current cold (and now cough. damn.) there's really not much I can to about it until later this week (maybe). All I can do game-wise at the moment is leave the app on so my mini-me can occasionally wander and rack up steps. Boo.

But! All was not lost! For all that aimless wondering turned fruitful and I had a new Pokemon hatch today-

Lickingtung

It's stats aren't all that great, but I've yet to come across one in the wild, so yippee. Other than the region exclusives and the evolves I have to build up to (up to 21 candies for Grimer. Yay!), that just leaves me Aerodactyl, Jinx and Porygon as the last (current) non-evolving Pokemon to track down. I've seen none of them in the wild, so who knows how long that will take.

My last 10k egg also hatched into a very well reviewed Hitmonchan with Ice Punch.

The two egg hatches also bumped me up to LVL 28. So, not too bad for being stuck at home all day.

Lost 2 more today, probably because of vacation/kids being out of school/tourists/whatever. 6 now, who knows where I'll end up next?

Version 51 and its iOS equivalent should be available now. It fixes an issue where your phone would vibrate and nothing would be there, and it also adjusts for local sunrise/sunset times so the day/night cycles will be far more accurate than the old 7AM-7PM schedule.
