So is the military coup in Thailand against the King or the Prime Minister?

The Prime Ministers (current and past).
The military hierarchy are firm monarchists, as is the vast majority of the populace, the Thai King is one of the most popular kings in the world.

And you have to stand up during the national anthem if you happen to be watching a film in a cinema!
Actually I don't know if it's law, but one finds themselves obliged to follow the rules like everybody else lol.

I stand up and burst out into the Star Spangled Banner when the first green "Preview" screen goes up in every movie I watch in a theater. Sometimes people do stand up and put their hand over their heart.
I also do it when they collect for the Jimmy Fund.

The only time I stood up to a national anthem was when I was in the army

It's called a green band trailer, and you should be singing "This land is my land".
We do the pledge of allegiance at every rotary club meeting. Me and a bunch of old dudes, doing what little kids do.

Haha I was talking about Thailand in particular there.
So the Uks voted in this chocolate oligarch? I feel duped by the whole thing, and now couldn't care less.

So I have heard and I wonder why, but then again he is not really a king, he is more of a national icon. I believe he has 0 ruling power.

Hmm, a lot of this stuff around the Bergdahl story is really interesting. I wonder how much we do and don't know, how much we ever will or won't know, etc.

I really can't figure out what the hell they were thinking with this prisoner exchange. I see no real positive motive for the actions the Obama administration took. Did they really think people wouldn't consider this as negotiating with terrorist? Seriously hearing Susan E. Rice say we negotiated with Qatar not terrorist was the dumbest freaking thing I have heard in years.
Plus trying to justify not notifying Congress by saying well we told them after we had him safe sounded like something a grade schooler would come up with.
I mean really after years of firmly standing behind our policy of not negotiating with terrorist we traded 5 guys who have a lot of connections, are highly trained, and thoroughly hate America more then ever for a single soldier who had been held for over five years at this point.
We essentially just tossed fuel on the fire to generate what they must have considered would be positive press. Sure I am happy to see them making efforts to recover soldiers taken hostage. However this isn't the way to do it they are just putting more peoples lives at risk.
