Pretty much agreed. The more I think about it the more I do like it, but it still had issues... I think that is the moment is kind of slips up and gets a bit hilarious. The two dudes who were stuck there was just straight up fucking comedic and kind of irked me, it felt like it was the point but then also not... I dunno, lol. I think I'd like to see it again though. But yeah hopefully there's a good amount of content cut or something and we'll get an extended home release.
In superior Scott related news, just rewatched Blade Runner and man, it just gets better every time I rewatch it. I like how the themes between it and Prometheus are extremely similar in a lot of ways (why I decided to rewatch Blade Runner first instead of Alien, as weird as that may sound heh). But yeah, Blade Runner is just on a whole new level. I still think the final scenes with Roy is some of the best stuff ever, and just watching Deckard cling to life... is given life by the dying Roy. Never really realized how fragile Deckard was too (at least before the final conflict stuff), like how damn shaky he is, an alcoholic, mental breakdowns when he's taking the replicants down (practically murder?), and he's the main character? Damn that's heavy. It's just too good.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Funny. One of those movies that while an exaggeration, many people can relate to.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
That's the article I posted earlier, heh. Yeah it's pretty good stuff, only thing I don't like about it...
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
..thorough and almost as dumb as the movie.
I don't see why you guys don't see what PROMETHEUS is: A super, super dumb fun movie. The script is awful, the acting is awful (save for Fassbender), the characters are some of the dumbest people to ever be on screen, and there are more plot holes in the movie than there are black people in Tyler Perry movies. Almost everything in the movie is dumber than Ripley making no look behind the back three pointers.
None of it makes any sense. None of it.
But I like it.
It's entertaining, and that is all I ask of a movie. I'm going to see it again with a few friends sometime next week for a shit-a-thon just to point out how ridiculous the movie is.
That, and I can't wait to see future Biff again.
Minor spoilers:
Wouldn't it have been perfect if you know who had to put a coin in the you know what before you know what was removed?
In short, I wish you guys could see PROMETHEUS as the comedy it is.

Luke I am not sure if you are trolling, but the article is quite good and goes so far as to cite Ridley Scott's own thoughts on the film. Scott isn't traditionally in the business of making comedic fare or "dumb action movies" so I think you are wrong to try and read it that way...with all the allegory and symbolism in the film it doesn't really work in the way you are suggesting, either (unless you choose to completely ignore all of it). This isn't AVP territory here.Luke wrote:..thorough and almost as dumb as the movie.

Prometheus is a flawed film, for sure, but it is not flawed for the same reasons that most stupid/popcorn action films are...

Not looking to stir up any trouble or arguments at all.dsheinem wrote:

It's my honest opinion that PROMETHEUS is one of the dumbest movies of all time that is still entertaining and visually stunning. Again, that article is ridiculous. Anyone who takes this movie seriously needs a lobotomy. Seriously, if the name Scott wasn't involved, producers wouldn't consider backing this as a Lifetime movie.
I'll say it again: I like PROMETHEUS, but it is dumber than dumb. This is a perfect MST3KI/Riff Tracks movie. If you don't see future Biff and laugh your ass off, you need to check your funny bones. "Father" was one of the silliest deliveries I've ever watched.
Nothing in the movie makes sense, and I doubt anyone could make a claim against that statement.
