I got really lucky yesterday at a garage sale. There was a box sitting there for $20 and I saw part of a top-loading NES and a bunch of games/controllers. I knew I would buy it so I offered them $15 without even looking through it. Took it home and was pleasantly surprised by the contents:

- Top-loading NES with no cables (I had cables to test it, works great!)
- Two dogbone controllers
- Two original NES controllers
- Grey zapper
- NES Game storage thing

NES carts:
- Contra
- TMNT 3 Manhattan Project
- Kirby's Adventure
- Balloon Fight
- Tecmo Bowl
- Monster Party
- Donkey Kong Classics
- Baseball Stars
- Yo! Noid
- Top Gun
- RC Pro-Am
- Rygar
- Volleyball
- Double Dribble
- Hoops
- Gyromite (no R.O.B)
- Super Mario Bros. (x2)
- Super Mario Bros./Duckhunt
- John Elway's Quarterback

Various other things in the box:
- Two different playstations
- One set of playstation cords (power and RF cord)
- Five Playstation controllers (Two original, two dualshock, one Madcatz)
- Hot Shots golf 3 for PS2 (disc only, probably doesn't play)
- Grand Turismo for PSX
- Homemade skateboarding/BMX dvd (lol)

That expands my NES collection from three games and a console that barely works to 23 games and a console that works every time, so I'm really happy. Now, is it easy to get ahold of some NES power cables? I've been swapping a Genesis power supply between a Sega and two NES's.

I don't have any games for it, but looking at a local pawn shop I found something really cool. I got a Sega Genesis with all the hookups and one controller, no games yet, for 16$ total. I'm going on a game hunt tomorrow.

Awesome man, you won't regret buying it. Also, try checking out the RB articles first.

My sister's boyfriend sold me Red Dead Redemption for the PS3 for $14 today. He was going to give it to me but I insisted on paying him something.

Ok, this is finds of the last 2 weeks while on vacation, but here goes.

Overview of the stuff I picked up in Japan. Some of this will end up in my sale thread and a few things are for other people. I had neglected to look at evening temps in California and Japan so I ended up buying a hoodie at a very nice second hand shop while there.

Visited Sevin and we went to his favorite thrift shop. No amazing finds, but I did get Herb Alpert, Art of Noise, and a Star Trek Elite Force for $2.22 grand total. Also hit Rabbit's Foot Meadery with my friends and had a sampling of their wares. Brought home a nice bottle of their Melia orange blossom honey based mead.

I stayed away from systems, else I might have come home with an AES, some Saturn sticks, and more. Kept to small manageable things so I wasn't mailing or carrying home weighty items I'd have to worry about in transit. I could have easily spent a lot longer looking at and buying game stuff, but I didn't want to bore my friends and I was doing cultural stuff too. Successful trip and shopping. :)
