But... I wasn't. The games were on a rack that said "PLAYSTATION 2 PRE-OWNED" full of non-shrink wrapped games with "USED" stickers on them.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Yeah, I think you were looking at the new game racks.

Hmm, all I have to say to that is the game's price sticker was never updated (It would still ring as $2.99 at the computer) or someone dropped the new game in the used section.brunoafh wrote:But... Agree, If that store was near me I would already be there instead of reading these posts!Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Hmm, all I have to say to that is the game's price sticker was never updated (It would still ring as $2.99 at the computer) or someone dropped the new game in the used section.brunoafh wrote:But... Okay. I just called the manager of that GameStop I was talking about and asked him about the pricing. Specifically, I asked about Guilty Gear Isuka (priced at $29.99) and Raiden 3 (priced at $14.99). Both of the games were listed on GameStop's site for $5.99. This sounded like a good deal, so I decided to followed up on it after reading what you guys said.
He told me that each store prices their games independently, and that the prices on the site mean nothing.

1. Simply printout the pages and take it down there.
2. The bar code scanned will be the same price the site shows.

The only difference between the online and in store prices are that online the prices are usually around $5 less. That's just to accommodate shipping fees, though.brunoafh wrote:Okay. Store to store it's the same prices unless the games have been labeled incorrectly - why would they have a company wide live inventory system and not use that same database to price items?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Looks like brunoafh has left the building. Hopefully the phone call didn't ruin the chance of buying the games that the store now knows are a lot cheaper.Flake wrote:The only difference between the online and in store prices are that online the prices are usually around $5 less. Trust me, it didn't ruin anything. The store just didn't care about dealing with him. We get a lot of angry calls from people who think they're the ones who should be pricing stuff and sometimes we have to just deal with it and other times it's basically a "screw it" moment depending on how the workload in the store in front of us is.CRTGAMER wrote:Looks like brunoafh has left the building. Re: Is Gamestop Evil? The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
I was rude in no way whatsoever. I politely asked about the pricing to see if it was indeed a mistake as some of the posters here are saying, and if the in-store prices match the prices online. I wasn't acting like I should be the one pricing the games. I think you would agree that asking $29.99 for a copy of Guilty Gear Isuka is a tad much though.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Trust me, it didn't ruin anything. Sorry that you have to be arsed to provide customer service from time to time. Must be hell.
edit: Just to clarify, when I wrote that bit about the stores doing pricing independently, I meant independently from the site's pricing, not independently from location to location.
