I loved the original trailers from Fifth Element. It was basically, space and a giant 5 coming toward the screen. You knew the director and who was in it. It was enough for me.

Funny you mention that. There are tons of trailers where the funny jokes actually end up getting edited out in the final cut. I think it was either Richard Pryor or Eddie Murphy who was supposed to be in Look Who's Talking Too, and the sound bite used was from a completely different movie.

You're certainly right to say that most amateur comedy movies, and some of the good ones, have all the good jokes in the trailer. And then you have the 3 Stooges movie who didn't have any good jokes.

Any spoilers from trailers that really, really disappoint your movie experience?
Two words: Terminator Salvation. I maintain that it would've been a much better movie if they didn't blow Sam Worthington's secret before anyone saw the damn thing.

It did have Christopher Walken and midgets in penguin suits.

Oh, and face biting.

But I agree, a shallow sequel that led to great video games.
I enjoyed Batman Returns at the time. It certainly did leave an influence. Not just the video games, but the Penguin from Batman the Animated Series, and even some of his comic book portrayals since then, have been based off of his apperance in Batman Returns. Like it or not, Devito left his mark on that character

I like how Catwoman was portrayed personally. She was a tortured soul like Bruce, and had a reason for becoming Catwoman that made some sense. She was on a revenge quest, like Bruce. Every other portrayal of her in other mediums just portrays her as an irresponsible, immature, over confident thief who won't grow up and is always getting rescued by Batman because of the trouble her over confidence gets her into. She's generally a rather obnoxious character who is inexplicably popular, but I didn't feel that way about her in Batman Returns. I actually prefer Burton's Catwoman to every other version of her I've seen

I think the reason I liked Keaton more as Batman is because he always had this haunted look on his face. He really looked like a guy with a messed up child hood. Plus, he was appropriately awkward as Bruce Wayne, since it's not who he really is. I don't dislike Bale's portrayal though, but the pain of Batman's life doesn't come through as strongly with Bale. He does portray Batman's strength and determination really well though

He looks the exact same way when he's trying to vacuum in MR.MOM and when he does calisthenics in GUNG-HO.

Bruce is also a playboy, and I didn't get a lot of an awkward feel from either Bale's nor Keaton's performance.

I don't know. I just felt that Keaton really looked the part, and he didn't have that stupid, exaggerated Batman voice. That's a Bale thing. Even Kevin Conroy in the animated series never did that. Hell, none of the Batman voice actors in any of the animated shows or movies did that.

Keaton's Bruce is plenty awkward. He often seems distracted, like he's never fully there, and acts strange around the ladies like Vicki Vale and Selina Kyle. Bale seems way too comfortable when he's doing the millionaire playboy role with the girls in the restaurant in Batman Begins. Keaton makes you feel that it's an effort to be Bruce. He's always thinking of putting the cowl back on and fighting crime or doing some detective work.

Bale's a fine Batman though, but I always feel like he's playing Batman. Keaton just sort of became the character to me.

And even if it was, a movie that long is worth experiencing anyway. Spoilers couldn't capture everything.
