I just got back from one of the GameStops I usually never go to. I have another one much closer to my place, but I was in the area so I figured I'd check it out and see if I found anything interesting.

All of the CIB games worth a damn (and many that weren't) were way over priced. I was pretty confused by this since the other GameStop I occasionally stop by isn't like this. It's clear they just looked at random games that were popular and priced them to what they felt was accordingly, using no actual pricing reference whatsoever. Specific examples that come to mind are Guilty Gear Isuka for $29.99, Romancing SaGa for $24.99, and Shadow Hearts Covenant for $29.99. Anything Street Fighter, Tekken, or Final Fantasy was $14.99 - $19.99. The crowning jewel of the silliness, by far, was State of Emergency for $19.99.

I did get a Tales of Phantasia GBA cart for $5 though.

Well today was my first time buying ps2 games at gamestop since I got a ps2. Quite frankly, it was hell. I probably spent 10 minutes looking through 10% of the sleeves. Thankfully I found a few worthwhile games in the 10%. I can understand why all you guys are getting so mad about them tossing cases and manuals. It sucks ass
Black DSi, Pink GBC, Softmodded Wii, Softmodded Fat Ps2, Black Gamecube, Xbox, Dreamcast, Ps1 Slim, Atomic Purple GBC, Onyx GBA SP, Gears of War 3 Edition Xbox 360 Slim, PSP 3000, NES.

Are the titles new or used? Should have linked the Gamestop site not Amazon.

Get Back There Immediatly
Anytime there is a question of price, ask the employee to look it up. In this case my bet is there is an old sticker on that game. You can also verify Gamestop online the price and availability.

PS2 State of Emergency ITS ONLY $2.99 used!
http://www.gamestop.com/ps2/games/state ... used/19469

Go nuts shopping there
Sounds like you hit a gold mine that has not had an inventory sweep for a while!

1. Lot of games in stock not sold with an older higher price tag.
2. Lot of games under $5.00 that are still complete due to older higher price tag.

The register will automatically ring up the current price, as in State of Emergency at $2.99 USED, you might find some other surprises!

Take your sales receipt and voice your opinion at the site listed. For better results click, the section to bypass the survey. Don't forget to check the box for the District Manager to contact you. Its the only way you can get change done at your store.

I mentioned it in the survey. I think I might contact the dm, but at my normal gamestop.

Well, it has been 72 hours, and I still have not received a response from the District Manager. What should I do about this? I am kind of upset about this. Should I call Gamestop and ask them for the DM's number?

Accept defeat, move on. Even if they do contact you it doesn't mean anything. I highly doubt they're going to alter the store's policy because one customer called them out on their dickery.

They're used. GameStop never carries new PS2 games as far as I'm aware. I linked the Amazon site to remind people what POS game it was, and that people sell it for 1 cent. I'm sure the employees looked at the case and saw it said Rockstar and thought "GTA!", and then felt a 20 dollar sticker was in order.

I think that's very wishful thinking. Some of the game were priced accurately. I'm fairly confident they were just price gouging the hell out of games with popular names because they're complete jackasses. I doubt they've had a copy of Guilty Gear Isuka sitting around since 2005 and just happened to forget to lower the price by 25 dollars.

No.
Maybe got lost somehow or the District manager slipped up and never called. Just submit another statement direct to the Gamestop link I provided a couple of pages ago, be sure to check the District Manager Contact Customer box. Be sure to include both your Cell number and EMail. You won't get any Spam and will have a direct connection with the District Manager. Every submission I did this way resulted in a call usually by the next morning. I have THREE District Manager's Cell and Email from different regions. Its worth the trouble, especially if you keep the complaint in a controlled tone, working together with the staff to see the problem.

By doing this you get the inside track with your District manager such as a heads up on future policies and sales. That is how I got advance notice on the B2G2F sales and which local stores will no longer carry PS2 games. As I stated before, my Home Store is no longer tossing the cases and manuals, all because of the positive communication.

Did you submit that an edit of that PM you sent me to Gamestop? Its a great from the heart concerned writeup, will have great impact with a copy of that yellow envelope PS2 rack pic.

There are some PS2 titles on the shelf that are new. Employees do not set the price locally, the price is in the system from the main office.

Did you bother to click the PS2 State of Emergency Gamestop link? THAT IS THE PRICE! When the old high priced bar code is scanned at the register, it will be the current price that is in the entire Gamestop inventory system. The link I provided shows the current price.

Instead of guessing and ranting, take some time and look stuff up.

Here you go, looked it up:
Guilty Gear Isuka is ONLY $5.99!
http://www.gamestop.com/ps2/games/guilt ... suka/33243

You have great opportunity to get CIB treasures! Think about it, if that Guilty Gear has the correct six dollar tag, would it still be on the shelf?

Do you really think your local GameStop is never going to throw away another PS2 case or manual because you asked them not to?

THANK YOU. I WILL RUSH BACK TO THE STORY TO PURCHASE THIS FINE GAME IMMEDIATELY.

Yeah, I think you were looking at the new game racks.

Also, Tekken 5 and the PS2 Street Fighter games have always maintained a high price online and offline.
