Sega couldn't afford to wait an extra two years. The only real income they had coming in after the Saturn died was whatever they got from arcade and Pachinko machines, plus the hole they'd have left in the market by sitting out for two years would have been filled by someone else before they returned.

In all seriousness though, virtual reality sounds awesome. I don't the technology will be there yet for a few years, unfortunately.
But let's be honest: who wouldn't want to, not just play, but BE Link/Mario/Kratos/Tiptup Turtle/what have you?

My ps4 fan is loud when i launch a game. Its pretty noticeable so just curious if i should i be alarmed. :/

Smaller case and smaller heatsink than the XB1. Wouldn't be surprised if the PS4 is a bit loud in comparison. But hopefully nowhere near fat PS3 levels. That thing sounded like a jet in my room.
