Nice.

All the thrift stores worth anything around here use some sort of red marker. It's removable, but it's a b*&!# to get off. Especially when they put them on the cart labels

Anyway, I picked up the following over the past week. Nothing stellar, but pretty good for my area. The evil red-marker thrift store gave me:

2 3rd party PS1 memory cards - $1 for both
Dreamcast Web Browser - $0.50
Tretris 2 SNES - $0.50
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (complete) PS2 - $2.50
Onimusha 2 (complete) PS2 - $2.50
Sims: Bustin Out GC (missing manual)- $1.50
Blaze Scorpion 2 PS1 lightgun - $0.75 (I've never seen this one before, but I must say I think it's far more attractive than most of the others I've seen.)

Also got a Game Boy Color/Pocket Organizer for $0.25. It's big and bulky and looks like this:

imagemagic.php.jpeg (34.69 KiB) Viewed 1295 times
I sort of really like it

They also had some GBA games for $3 each, but I either already had them, or they sucked.

The local game store gave me:

Activision Anthology PS2 - $1.79

And from Gamestop:

Herdy Gerdy PS2 (complete) - $0.99
Powerdome PS2 (complete) - $0.99 (Thanks CRT :D )
Onimusha PS2 (complete) - $1.99
Ratchet and Clank PS2 (complete) - $6.99

The one in Mebane. The one at Burlington uses these stickers too. The only other NC Goodwill I can think of is Hillsborough, but they use ugly permanent marker there. So I guess it's luck of the draw. :(
I only go to the ones in Wakefield and Wake Forest and they use permanent marker. They sometimes have decent stuff, the best things I've gotten there were my Dreamcast with two controllers and memory card for $20 and my Genesis with two controllers for $15. Lately they haven't had anything good though. The Wakefield one is cleaner/better than the Wake Forest one.
Hmm, I've never seen a goodwill that didn't use stickers. I know that the local and nearby Value Village stores (only the company in name and actually locally owned for-profit's) use sharpie for everything.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Wii House of the Dead 2 & 3 - $19.96 NEW
Gamestop had it used for $19.99 and $29.99 New. Walmart has it new for $19.96, take a guess where I bought it.

This was exactly opposite of Sin and Punishment where Gamestop had the best price of $19.99 New and all other LOCAL retail stores had it for $49.99. Pays to shop around for each title I guess.

Strange that Walmart did not display this great game in the store, it could only be purchased thru their website. Maybe the Zombie killing too offensive to be placed with all the FPS games. :?

I did a compare review with the Dreamcast version and "Lightgun" Rapid fire options here:

Are you completely against buying games (new or used) online? That game can be had for $10 new on the web (http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... CGEQgggwAA)...

Just sayin' - not sure how it can be classified as a "find".

Check the shipping cost.

I post in the Video Game Finds not only value, but the discovery of a great game with new ways to play.

That game can be had on Amazon new or used (shipping included) for cheaper than 19.99. There's just no reason to ever buy a video game new in a store unless you absolutely cannot wait the few days for it to be shipped to you these days.

I buy a LOT online, but there's definitely a thrill of buying something in a store. I usually make this argument with CDs. Pretty much all the CD shops around where I live closed up. Sure, I could buy a CD on Amazon (and if it's an older one, a lot cheaper too) but that takes the fun out of flipping through CDs in a CD shop. The same logic can be applied to video games. But yeah, I'm not gonna buy MK9 in GameStop for $60 when it's $40 on Amazon.

Over here in oregon pretty much all the thrift stores use stickers. Which is great for the classics. I'm stunned they would write on things with permanent markers!

The only downside is that they have a tendency to tape boxes closed.. so that Dreamcast in box has a nice big piece of masking tape over each end. :( Would have bought it but removing that tape would just ruin the box. Price wasn't low enough to buy it in that condition...
