You do realize now that if his music career starts to flag and he wants to get into acting, you are obliged to put a horse's head in the director's bed.Luke wrote:He asked if I would be his child's Godfather, which I happily accepted. This is my first and maybe only time being a Godfather, and I feel quite honored.
That said, I have no clue whatsoever who is my Godfather or if I even have one.

This is true. It also means that you should avoid getting out of your car to buy a peach at an open-air market.MrPopo wrote:You do realize now that if his music career starts to flag and he wants to get into acting, you are obliged to put a horse's head in the director's bed.Luke wrote:He asked if I would be his child's Godfather, which I happily accepted. On the plus side, however, all of your acquaintances will now be obligated to kiss your pinky ring.

I'd rather decapitate a horse than help with college tuition. Paying off my grad school loan was an eye opener.MrPopo wrote: You do realize now that if his music career starts to flag and he wants to get into acting, you are obliged to put a horse's head in the director's bed.
Really hope I knock my wife up soon. Want a boy, but if she has a girl one day when our daughter grows up and gets married I can say "On this the day of my daughter's wedding, you come asking for a favor" and no one will no what the hell I'm referring to, but it will make me happy.

Have to admit I googled "Godfather" to see what my responsibilities will be. Kind of sounds like being the non-crazy Uncle who gives sound advice and nice presents.
That I can handle.
One funny thing is that my friend is all excited to get his wife's boobs worked on after she breast feeds. She's not chubby, not thin, about average but with E (or it maybe F) sized breasts. He loved them until about a year or two ago and told me "those things are out of control. She needs a reduction or a lift, or something. Anything."
But yeah, Godfather. Who wouldn't like the sound of that?

Bonus points if you invite a man named Bonasera to the wedding.Luke wrote:I'd rather decapitate a horse than help with college tuition. I have a boy and a girl. They are both awesome. I would expect a Godfather to "hope [that his] first child would be a masculine child" however.Luke wrote:Want a boy, but if she has a girl...
If you have a daughter, however, and she later marries, you should expect to hear this from more than one wedding guest:
"Don [Luke], I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your daughter... 's wedding... on the day of your daughter's wedding. And I hope their first child be a masculine child. I pledge my ever-ending loyalty."

Smile: A twist on the old "sorry" joke. Usually it goes:
Comedian: And where are you from sir?
Audience member: Nashville.
Comedian: Sorry.
Audience member: I said Nashville.
Comedian: Heard you the first time, I'm just sorry you're from Nashville.
Twist!
"You guys wanna play a board game?"...You can figure out the rest.

Oh hell naw - I can't afford one of those, nor do I really enjoy using them.
