Starting to really not enjoy Super Cyborg. Level 3 is rather punishing in a lot of ways, not the least of which is a too-high spawn rate, and capped off by some questionable hit detection. Seems the man character's hitbox is just a shade larger than the character's graphic when in mid-jump. I'm getting tired of getting clipped by close calls.

Just wait until you get to the last boss, 3 phases, very tough pattern, and takes tons of hits to kill. The good news is the final level is the only level in the game with a mid level checkpoint, so when you die a trillion times on the last boss you won't have to replay the whole level again.

Don't give up on it though, it is a great game, but considerably harder than any contra game.

Yay, someone else here that's made it through the game! I was shaking when I finally beat it. I seriously haven't decided if it was harder than Hard Mode Contra III, but the game doesn't play around. That mid-stage checkpoint is good, but it'd be better if I got there with a decent weapon...

Its hard for me to judge it fairly, I have played through contra 3 so many times that I can do it with no effort at all, but I spent well over an hour trying to beat the final boss of super cyborg and I can't remember any part of Contra 3 giving me such a hard time. Of course my memories are probably a bit faded since I beat contra 3 for the first time around 25 or so years ago.

What makes the game far more forgiving than contra 3 (or any contra) is the fact that you get a save feature and unlimited continues, I couldn't even imagine beating this game within the parameters of the contra series (3-7 lives and 2-3 continues).

There is a 40 life code for the game too, in desperation I tried to get it to work but never was able too, but the developer swears it exists.

Thanks to the recent Steam sale, I've been playing some Rayman Origins.

Picked up Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands during black Friday since Gamefly had it for $20 and I have to say this is one of the most boring sandbox games I have ever played. It's basically one giant checklist of repetitive activities with no challenge what so ever. Enemy AI is horrible they take forever to detect you and even before you spot them the game puts a nice orange glow on the map over the areas they are in so it's impossible to stumble into an enemy. Also bodies disappear pretty quickly so hiding kills isn't a major concern. You also have 3 squad mates who are near invincible when playing in solo mode and you have a synch shot skill that lets you que up to 3 enemies for an insta kill and the cooldown is around 30 seconds.

If you had 3 friends to jump in for co-op you might be able to gain some entertainment from it but it's still just a large map full of collectibles, fetch quests, and small strongholds to raid.

Good pick. I adore that game. I beat it to death on the Wii, and I still had no problem basically going back through the entire game again when I conquered Rayman Legends on the Wii U last year.

Played the first episode of Guardians of the Galaxy tonight. Reviews seem mixed, but if you love Guardians like I love Guardians then this game is really awesome.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Enjoying it so far but man it's overwhelming more so than other games in the series. That can be good or bad depending on the person. It's tougher to run in the open fields than previous games as more enemies much higher levels just out to get ya. Makes exploring pretty thrilling. The music is outstanding. Still early as I am only level 11.
