it is far more linear and scripted, but I felt like it worked that way. The story is told so wonderfully, and the momentum is so perpetual that it just works. Plus like you said, gorgeous.RyaNtheSlayA wrote: Also, so far it's a far better game than the first but it seems far more linear and scripted. Not that the original wasn't. The areas just seem far smaller and directed. Super pretty game though.

Yeah. So far I'd agree with that.noiseredux wrote:it is far more linear and scripted, but I felt like it worked that way. Bioshock wasn't enough like System Shock to really succeed in gameplay. The atmosphere and story carried it. So this form works a bit better for the franchise I think.

Yeah, count me in as one that liked Infinite more. I loved the original, but yeah. Infinite was fantastic.

I know most people say that the DreamCast version is the definitive version, but I very much enjoyed playing the game on my PS2. (I like my wireless PS2 controller more than I like my wired DreamCast controller.)Sload Soap wrote:Which is the best version of Rayman 2, chaps?
The 3DS version of the game is also good, and it is based on the Dreamcast version (but with, you know, STEREOSCOPIC 3D!!!!!!!!!!).
EDIT: Apparently the PS2 version has some extra content, but does not run as smoothly as the Dreamcast version. (When I played it, I thought it was fine. Admittedly, however, I had not played the DreamCast version at that time.) Regardless, you can't go wrong with Rayman 2. It is one of the best 3D platformers.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
A cursory ebay search shows that the PS2 version is by far the cheapest as well. I can even get it in a bundle with Rayman 3 so I'll probably go for that.
For whatever reason Rayman 2 on PS2 was re-titled Rayman: Revolution over here. Weird.

I'd say 3DS or PC. Dreamcast version is really nice as well.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Doesn't the PC port only have the content from the N64 original, though? This video does a good job out outlining the major differences in the Rayman 2 versions:RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I'd say 3DS or PC. Dreamcast version is really nice as well.

Darn was going to play something on my nes and it's not working again(apparently I've got the bins bent again or something since pushing it down just far enough before it releases the spring makes it read...). Probably what i get for leaving zelda 1 in the thing(I've really got to learn to show this thing more love...gonna try to find a eraser to see if that helps it any...

If this is continuing to happen, darsparx, it might be time to consider a pin replacement.
