What was the last movie you've seen?

They're all at least watchable, right?

Watchable, yes. Watching them first, no need to. Watching them alone after seeing THE AVENGERS, not a bad idea but they all pale in comparison. I'd rank them as

IRON MAN
CAPTAIN AMERICA

-big drop-

THE INCREDIBLE HULK
THOR

...so where does Iron Man 2 fit in that?

In between The Incredible Hulk and Thor.

 okay

I do have Iron Man on blu ray sitting on my shelf. Maybe it's about time I watched it... (or maybe tomorrow considering I've got some tidying up to do and I gotta get to bed before long.)

Captain America looked interesting to me at least (and it's got Hugo Weaving!), so I'll probably pick it up sometime too. I guess I'll save Incedible Hulk and Thor for if I find them cheap.

So who's seeing The Avengers this weekend? Those of you who may have already seen it (as in, Luke), is it as good as the IMDB score indicates?

I would like to see the Avengers Marathon where they play Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and then The Avengers at midnight. School just gets in the way of a dreamer.

Hmm. Let's see how IMDB is rating my four favorite movies of 2012...

The Avengers = 9

Cabin In the Woods = 8

This is 40 = n/a (what? It's not out yet but surely there is a final edit people have watched)

The Raid:Redemption = 8.3

I'd give Cabin an 8.5, The Avengers a 9, This is 40 an 8.75, and RAID an 8.9. So, yeah, my rankings would be really close with these movies at IMDB.

If you enjoy watching a movie with a crowd (and you should) definitely go see the Avengers Thursday night or Friday morning. These will be the diehard fans that will be cheering and shouting "holy shit!/That was soooo badass!/Did you just see THAT?/etc" at the screen. These are also the same people who won't usually take offense if you tell them "Hey, hey...I'm really trying to listen to this part".

I'm pretty sure this movie is the one that will get people who hate theaters to start loving them again. The movie is full of adventure, but very smart. Unlike a lot of super hero movies the second act in this one is full of dialogue, and not just a bunch of mind dulling montages.

Not to hype it up... wait. That's not what I meant. As with Cabin, 40, and Raid, I have no qualms with hyping this up. It delivers and I would assume as soon as you leave the theater you either can't stop talking about it or can't wait to see it again.

That's good to hear. I'll most likely see it this Saturday. I was cautious about this one after Hulk and Thor weren't exactly stellar films.
