Interesting auction just closed here for the NGPC collectors among us:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Evolution-ete ... true&rt=nc

A boxed and complete copy of possibly the rarest NGPC game: Evolution: Eternal dungeons (UK release).

I gave a good long period of thought to entering the bidding but once I saw it surpassing the £200 mark I decided against it. I've heard that although its an interesting concept (a 2d demake of the DC game) it's an average experience.

I don't know how much I'll be kicking myself in future years though as these things show up far and few between.

The same seller also got over £100 for a boxed copy of Gals Fighters. Again I considered but ultimately wavered.

Just prior to the server move I posted a note that I received when I recently sold my US AES copy of Soccer Brawl:

"the paper that says what the game is on the game box is a cardboard copy"

I have no idea what this means - assuming he means the case art, and it certainly isn't cardboard and while I don't have it to check any longer, nothing in my picture taking (and previously playing it), led me to think the label isn't real.

It sounds like he is talking about the label.

I thought that also but his full comment is:
the paper that says what the game is on the game box is a cardboard copy. the cartridge label is fine.

the artwork. yes. I couldn't find the word.
but yeah. it's a thin cardboard copy of the box art.the ink is actually stuck to the box.
So that's a little perplexing. Has anyone seen this with AES art - maybe due to heat over time?

That can happen to almost any slipcover over time.

That's my thinking. It's not a copy, just a victim of 20 years of being in a slip cover. I've only owned it for a couple of years so no clue what it went through prior.

Im getting back into the NGPC game, worked out a deal for a console with a decent bundle of games to get me started. I always kind of regretted selling my NGPC a while ago, so I am excited to get back into it, especially with the enthusiasm you guys have for it!

So - this made me a little nervous but in my auctioning off of my US AES titles, I put Magician Lord up for a quick three-day sprint. Lots of pictures - and my copy was complete. I figured this would go for around 50-60 bucks (shipping was flat rate $11 on top) based on other completed auctions and BINs. In 2011 I paid around $35-40 for this IIRC.

It was sitting around $69 an hour or so before finishing up with a lot of bids and interest. It ended in a flurry and sold for $152.50 + shipping with two guys going at each other at the finish.

Even though the winner had 100% feedback I thought for sure he'd back out or maybe this was some kind of scam. I got paid this morning without issue and shipped the game. I'm still a little apprehensive on the whole thing because it seemed so out of the norm.

Am I missing something?
