I didn't like the finale. It just did not feel on tune with the way Breaking Bad has developed. I think if they ended the show with him riding the red van it would be a better ending, but it might have kept people wondering and asking for me. Death of Walter White seemed very bland and expected. its the oldest trick in the book.
There are a lot of loop holes and I think the writers kind of dropped the ball a bit (compared to the usual quality and attention paid to details of this show):
- Walter is a chemist , where did he get skills to build a mechanical gun in such a short time?
-The fact that he is a chemist is not really used, swapping ricin for the sweetener doesn't count.
-The gun was too slow to kill everyone of the gang members before they could drop down for cover or take action.
-There was no reason for him to ask to see Jesse. He could have dropped down and just started the gun fire
-Walter walking around the city but never being caught even though his face is in the news everywhere. He was even able to get to his wife but the cops some how never were watching her or his old house.
-Walt magically knows where and when Lydia is, he can find where his family is hiding, and he is able to bypass a multimillion dollar home security even though he is wanted.
It goes on really.
I do not care how many people try to argue this but I really feel like the really good guy in the show was Walt. He was the only one who no one ever did anything to help him. He was there for Jesse many times, and as a matter of fact I think Jesse alone led him to his death. Jesse is so ungrateful that even when Walt asked him to shoot him he didn't. His wife caused a lot of trouble to him including the affair, hitting him with a knife, keeping him away from his children... goes on. His brother and sister in law were after him with hatred even though he helped them out with the medical stuff. His old friends that he co-founded the company with trash talked him on TV. After all that, Walt never did hurt any one innocent (IIRC).
Remember he could have easily rode that van and lived his life, yet he decided to come back to pay his ungrateful son in the millions, save Jesse that was going to send him lifetime in jail, free his wife from being prosecuted, and he still is called the bad guy ?
There are 2 things I didn't get:
-Why did Walt decide to kill Lydia, and have he been meeting Lydia long enough to know she always adds that sweetener to her beverage?
-What was the box Jesse was carving? Why was it brought back?

I am really surprised that Breaking Bad's finale had around only 10-12m viewers for rating. I know its a huge number, but when you think of all the hype its generating in the world of the internet and quick access you will be very surprised to know that shows like Magnum P.I. , The Cosby Show, and Friends all had 5x that number! (according to Forbes:

I have my own version of the finale but no one seems to like it (friends). I thought it would be better if Walt would hand himself in, and after a long trial walking back the memory lane of Breaking Bad they jury would find him innocent, and maybe Walt can go back to being a teacher or being famous whatever.
When you think about it, there isn't really enough evidence to put it on him. Hank, Gus, and about every other mobster out there who dealt with him is dead. Saul disappeared, the money is gone, Jesse is enslaved by the gang. The gang won't hand themselves in neither would Lydia . The confession tape is with Todd's uncle.
I think many people would enjoy an innocent Walt than a dead Walt. I really don't see many people hating on him.
Long post, but a long show too
