That sucks about EotB 3. For some reason I felt like I remembered you also playing the Sega CD version, like back when it was a Together RPG game, but come to think of it, have you ever owned a Sega CD? I'm probably just nuts. Anyway, I was just sort of curious if one of the two versions happens to be more difficult, or anything. Part of me would also rather be able to continue on with the same party into EotB 2.

Sure is, but which revision of the PS1 version of SMT II did you score? The later revision (yellow printing on the disc) is the good one. I don't remember the specifics, but the original revision (orange printing on the disc) has some fairly severe bugs. As a consequence, the later revisions, along with being more uncommon, are also generally three plus times the price of the early revision.
