E3 2017
Re: E3 2017
So new Metro, looks like the devs went "man, I missed working on STALKER". Which is totally not a bad thing. Though I'm not sure I'm sold on this whole "breathing on the surface" mechanic.

So Anthem is like Destiny in 3rd person? Looks good to me...
Re: E3 2017
$499 for a new console seems steep when there's not a ton of exclusive games. Forza and Crackdown 3 seem to be the first-party exclusives, am I missing any? Backwards compatibility for the Original Xbox is a delight for us in the RB community, though it may not appeal to everyone else.

My gf pointed out backwards compatibility got the biggest clap of the show.Blu wrote:$499 for a new console seems steep when there's not a ton of exclusive games. The XOX will have NO exclusives, as all these games will run on my original Xbox One, too.

Right, it's there version of the PS4 Pro. It's not a new console; it's a beefier version of a current console. Everything will still run on Xbox One; it'll just run better and at a higher resolution and frame rate on Xbox One X.dsheinem wrote:My gf pointed out backwards compatibility got the biggest clap of the show.Blu wrote:$499 for a new console seems steep when there's not a ton of exclusive games. In my day our console upgrades plugged into our consoles! None of this "just replace the one you've already got" stuff.

Re: E3 2017
Learning nothing from the confusion over Nintendo console names, we now have a Xbox One X and a S, which *kind of* sound really similar.
I posted this in the Xbox thread too, but after spending the last two years trying to catch up to the PS4 and offering around solid bundles with upgraded hardware in the S, who are they trying to recruit here? Original $500 buyers who have stuck around (for another $500!)? PC gamers?
The backwards compatible pop from the crowd was topical; that report came out recently from mining XBox user activity on the One that just 1% of gaming time was spent playing 360 games. I hope we can use our old discs. 5 of the last 6 retro games i've bought are original Xbox games!

Re: E3 2017
All of the backwards compatibility stuff kinda reeks of the same desperation that the Wii U had towards the end with all of the remasters playing to the fanbase. I like it.

I like it, the Xbone is truly the one Xbox to rule them all. Microsoft has put the value into my hands.

Re: E3 2017
I love the idea of having it, but in truth I'm not sure how often i'd actually play them. There's just too much to get to nowadays. Still - catering to your core fanbase isn't a bad thing. I don't think this attracts anyone extra to the Xbox One X either - like a Sony guy who decides *this* is the tipping point to jump over.
