I generally don't mind or even relish controversial or "fucked-up" content in media, be it dark, taboo, offensive etc... I don't exclusively look for it, but when it is there I can appreciate it, or atleast generally tolerate it.

This is because movies and games are a fantasy type source and outlet. It allows me to explore or be minimally exposed to such things. And I can do so easily because I know it is just a movie. It is easy for me to detach myself from it as a spectacle I am watching and not real. So movies don't scare me, or really make me upset in general.

The inverse you say? I can't recall a movie where an adult female goes around decapitating young boys in extremely graphic ways. Please tell me what movie that was.

Not young, but admittedly most slasher films are focusing on teenagers getting murdered.

"I Spit on Your Grave" has a female character go and brutally kill some dudes.

Its far from a slasher flick though.

No, Rape/Revenge is something else entirely.

The Burning was one that disturbed me. The raft scene was insane. Agreed that yeah, it's mostly teens in the Friday the 13th movies or whatnot, but they looked like jr high kids in The Burning. Phew... yikes.

I Spit on Your Grave is perhaps one of the most well known of the rape/revenge exploitation subgenre, where women are generally brutalized in the first act, recover in the second, and seek revenge(or others seek it for them) in the final act. Not all movies in the subgenre fit this perfectly, as some choose to focus more on the revenge or play with the chronology. But all have these elements in some fashion.

Examples include:

Ms. 45
The Last House on the Left
Savage Streets
The Crow
Lady Vengeance
Irreversible
Death Wish
Eye for an Eye
Teeth
They Call Her One Eye

And there are many, many more.

The Last House on the Left sucks dicks, couldn't finish that shitty movie.

Think I'll pass on the rape genre.
