Not all the tall stuff is garbage. Kind of not exactly commonly loved or known, but Zero Tolerance is very good, it's a FPS game that plays pretty well.

Also Virtua Racing has that smooth and rounded over tall shell too and that's one fun release.

Best tall Genesis game:

I would not punch Will Harvey in the face and crotch.

You know I can think of another fantastic conversion for the system in a tall unlicensed cart -- Star Control. It's a must own. The fact I still don't (again) saddens me, but well too much stuff and I'm contemplating another sell off.

Same company if I recall also put a decent conversion of Test Drive on there too in these off sized carts.

While technically not unplayable, the fairly consistent 15 fps frame rate made Homefront: The Revolution only barely playable at launch, and the developers almost immediately broke the damn game entirely by accidentally disabling the map function, making missions literally impossible to accept.

Homefront seems to be patched up just got this recently with season pass, if there are frame dips it's not consistent that I noticed and had a few emergent invasion moments with tons of enemies on screen. Hope they keep up doing this ip there's huge potential there, seems they spent a ton of time building the world and fell flat on programming the A.I otherwise there's a lot to like here imo. One thing I'd like to see going forward are some solid squad tactics/command and brutality real A.I keep everything else intact, I caught a Saboteur/Far Cry/Crisis vibe and loved the way weapon mod loadout works in this game.

I bought it on day one. It was a steaming pile of shit at launch. Literally almost unplayable.

I have this on NES; how different is the Genesis version? I'm assuming a lot, but how so?

Genesis version has of course better graphics (with far better animation), a better OST, and seriously bad ass executions for all the enemies. It's a tremendously great dungeon crawler but it's also tremendously difficult, I won't lie.

I love the massive Genesis EA carts with the yellow tabs. They look rad.

The Atari 2600 has all sorts of different cart shapes. The Famicom has some nice variation as well.

I love them too! One of my favorite had to be King's Bounty! A great port that translates so well to console and is so much fun!

The Immortal is cryptic as all hell and damn near requires a walkthrough. If you lose or use an item you need later in the game, you're screwed, hit the reset button. The password system is garbage, requiring you to re-input the whole thing just to continue.

It's not a good game, unless you like gory death animations.

All of that is true!

But I still enjoy it for its atmosphere, combat, crazy puzzles, death traps, and super gory executions for enemies. I can totally understand how someone would think it's a terrible game though.

It could've been great though. If it was optimized correctly and had a better sense of direction. The combat system is broken, it's easy to manipulate.
